Roland and I are working on the IYA website at the moment and it should be up and
running soon at www.astronomy2009. org.nz
but we need content! so this is advance notice that if you want a link to your site/
observatory please let me know marilyn@actrix. co.nz

AND
we'd very much like profiles and photos of any nz astronomer (or anyone in a field that
relates to astronomy) - famous or not, dead or alive, here or there. It would be helpful if
you could give their full name, dates, a sentence or two about them and a link to a site,
article institution etc. if there is one. If you have an article about them that needs scanning
in let me know; word documents are fine and PDFs are great. We sould have a few names
up this weekend so you can see how it works.
PLEASE don't be shy - We want it to be as comprehensive as possible and it would save us
a lot of trouble finding things if they're sent in.
Roland has kindly offered to look after the site till the end of 2009.He is happy to change
content but the format will be pretty much set. we will be looking for images etc. but may
coordinate that through JohnDrummond( ??? would that be OK John?)
and if anyone wants to do any writing let me know!
