Having problems with message search?
Hey Joe, Roland, all.
Yes I believe it is Archenar, (aka Turu or Ruawahia)(Archemar seems to be Marere-o-tonga) and I was discussing the reason for the apparent ‘peacock colours’ of that star last night with friends that live with that view 24/7. I attached that image, no curves or any adjustment, just a straighten and crop, resize to 1280, shrink to web 73% from a 3504 pixel 2.8 mb original capture. Canon 20D 30 secs ISO 1600 f4 18mm (27mm equiv). noise reduction after exposure off. I use mirror flip up in advance and a usually a cable release.

with their thumbnails and two originals for anyone wishing to explore or use them further, perhaps comment back to me about what I can improve on. Its also for those of you that may want to see the current southern night sky, and cant get attachments. Go here:
