Meridian Energy says it will go ahead with Wellington's Makara wind farm and expects to start enabling work on the project within a month. Construction will take about two years. The wind farm will be a 62-turbine development instead of the originally planned 70. Four of the sites were removed by the Environment Court and four were found to be unsuitable for the proposed turbines.
