RE: [NetgearMP101Group] How to configure WEP?

Setup->Network Setup->Wireless->New/Hidden Network->Enter/Review Settings->

Enter your SSID

Select Infrastructure instead of Ad-Hoc for network type (OPEN is not an
option).

Enter WEP key (only need one)

Subject: [NetgearMP101Group] How to configure WEP?

Hi,

Its time to turn on security on my wireless. Up until now I just had
a couple of mp3 clients and I only turned on wireless when I used
them. Now I need to leave my wireless on more and I need to turn on
security.

My mp-101 has connected just fine up until now so I know its not a
distance problem.

I am using Open WEP 64 bit with one key. I also have turned off SSID
broadcast.

For the life of me I can't figure out how to enter the key into the
MP-101 (the Linksys WMLS11B is LOTS easier).

Do I need to have a value in the PASSPHRASE? Do I need more than one
key value?

Can someone please walk me thorugh this on the mp-101?

(BTW - 2Wire router)

TIA

John

Enable SSID broadcast temporarily and let the MP101 find it. It seems to work better that way. TB...
