The techniques used for noise reduction is a two part process that includes
contrast noise reduction. That might account for the apparent exposure increase
although just eliminating noise will also make the it look like a somewhat
different exposure.
In any case, for the purpose of this demonstration the technique was applied on
a global basis without any refinement afterwards whereas on a image I am working
on I would normally apply the noise reduction on a selective basis and brush on
the level of the applied technique differently on various parts of the image.
