You are entirely correct. I had one of my many brain dead moments. I just bought
the Stofen Omni Bounce and while it worked lovely inside, this sometimes
forgetful photographer tried using it outside for fill flash. No goodski,
obviously, now to me.
Thanks! I was out in the backyard successfully taking pictures of my wife in our
gardens. Just lovely.

A question and a thought (and my apologies if the question has been answered):
What are you bouncing against outdoors? Indoors you have other surfaces to help
throw your light evenly when you use your Stofen Omni Bounce with your flash.
Why do you not use your flip flash outdoors? You don't have to worry about
those deep shadows you could get if you were indoors. Granted, I wouldn't use
it on a subject more than 6-8 feet away, but it's quite useful in a pinch.
