Re: [Nikon-D70] Re: Stacking CPL on a UV filter - on to ND filters

Thanks, again, to all who responded about the ND filters.

Now, one last thing.

I looked up the prices of these little babies - $400??? for a rectangular
tinted piece of glass?? Holy smoke!
Does everyone go for the high end or what do you recommend before I auction
off my first born?

Thanks, again.

Hand-holding these types of filters is pretty common as it is quicker
and somewhat more flexible. I've made use of this method myself. It is
also the only way to use multiple filters where you want to
differentiate the angles of the different filters.
One advise if you're thinking about hand-holding: get the bigger sized
filters (e.g., 4x6", or Z-Pro in Cokin speak) as this gives you more
"room."

Having said all this, my preferred way is still using a filter holder
and a tripod mounted camera.

That's a Cokin style graduated neutral density filter..That's the type I use, but mine are held in place by a holder that attaches to the filter threads....
