Hi all-  I cam across this very interesting position with Global Cool
- content and community manager for a climate change focused
organization with a nontraditional audience.

Overview
Global Cool is a climate change charity that encourages the mainstream
public to reduce its carbon pollution by positioning eco-friendly
alternatives as aspirational. We aim our campaigns at a very
trend-conscious segment of the UK public that are yet to be motivated
by traditional climate change communications, and work with
celebrities, media and entertainment to inspire them to take action.

We are a small, creative, fast-paced organization –with a big ambition
and a growing reputation, network and impact. We run several campaigns
a year promoting particular activities to inspire individuals to
reduce their carbon footprint eg, we recently worked with music
festivals to inspire people to get out of their cars and onto trains
and busses, and with London Fashion Week to promote clothes recycling
and sustainable fashion. Online activity is very important for us in
building and communicating with our audience in order to inspire and
enable them to reduce their carbon footprint. Our website and social
networks are key in supporting our campaigns and talking to our
audience between these periods.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of how to use online
media to reach, excite and engage the mass public.

About this role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Online Content & Community
Manager will take Global Cool’s online activity to the next level –and
beyond. They will use the Global Cool’s website, blog, social networks
and social media to build our impact by:
- Maximizing our online reach
- Developing deeper levels of engagement and interaction with our
audience online
- Developing innovative online activity that positions
climate-friendly behaviours  as cool and desirable
- Creating innovative ways to offer advice that makes climate-friendly
behaviours easier to
understand and do

As a growing organisation, this role is ideally suited to someone with
lots of fresh ideas, bags of enthusiasm and a desire to excel. There
is also ample scope for this Manager to also play a key role in the
development of Global Cool as an organization, and the design of our
campaigning activities.
