Dear Permaculture Friends,
Practical Permaculture is holding a Permaculture Design Course this
fall and we are excited to invite you to attend.
Your instructors Cathe' Fish and Neil Bertrando are experienced
professional Permaculture teachers and designers, and additionally
they are both advanced students of international Master Permaculture
Innovator Geoff Lawton. You will learn the latest in creating
permaculture design, including sustainable edible landscapes, food
forests, drought proofing your property, water harvesting, earthworks
and building swales and dams, energy and nutrient cycling, energy
proofing your shelter, cooperative economics, mapping and design
projects, and much more.
Usually the PDC is 12-13 days long. Some of you have told us it would
be impossible for you to be away that long. So we came up with an
innovative approach...to have the course over 4 weekends, at four
different locations. This is a huge advantage to you, as you will
learn to apply permaculture design in 4 different towns, from zone 2
to zone 9, from sea level to 7,000'.
This PDC will follow the complete course outline of founder Bill
Mollison's Permaculture Institute, and upon graduation, you will be
issued a course graduation certificate from the Permaculture
Institute. This qualifies you to use the word Permaculture for your
services as a professional Permaculture Designer and Teacher.
Please bring the required course text to the course: Bill Mollison's
Permaculture Design Manual. The latest version is 2004, but any
version will be ok. To find a copy, look on the web…try Amazon or
Powell's Books, or borrow one, use the library's copy. Couples and
families may use one Manual. If you can't find a copy, let Cathe'
know; we can order in bulk from Bill Mollison's Tagari Press.

The objective of the Permaculture grassroots international movement is
to liberate people everywhere to provide for their family's and their
community's needs for food, sustainable energy, suitable shelter, and
well being without exploitation or pollution, from the smallest
practical piece of land.
From Permaculturist Scott Pitman:
"To my mind the very act of enrolling for a permaculture design course
is one of the most political acts most people ever engage in.
The very act of reading "Permaculture - A Design Manual" is extremely
radical and political as the information and realizations sink in of
the ultimate outcome of following the permaculture path. The beauty of
permaculture has always meant, to me, that I can travel all over the
world, in some of the most brutal dictatorships, espousing a
revolutionary system of design and I am considered harmless by the
powers that be. That is an incredible advantage in a world that has
become increasingly polarized by the paranoia of rampant capitalism
and lack of ethical guidance.
Within the ethical guideposts of permaculture are contained all the
political guidance one could need."
From Permaculture Founder Bill Mollison:
"This course has already changed a lot of the world - Come help us."
