The NorCal Skywarn group consists of people from all walks of life who are concerned about the weather. As trained weather spotters we alert the National Weather Service in extreme weather conditions. We also alert the public through HAM radio in the Sacramento Area via the K6IS repeater on 145.190 MHz. The weather service also uses us to "spot" the weather in cases where they cannot see the weather or need better intel for it. We also use a GMRS repeater located on Mt.Vaca, CA 462.625 MHz.

Also on the 2nd Wednesday of the month we are having a simplex radio check on 147.555 MHZ No PL is needed.
