The link "Ad Nowhere" suggests a congressional effort to prevent the Obama Admin

Dear Arroxane T. U. Eber,

As you probably suspect I am not a big planner, being an art teacher.

We tend to be somewhat spontaneous.  However, I plan to use the teaching materials from the Jet Propulsion Labs and I also have viewed a great documentary movie on Mars,  that focused on the two robots roaming the surface and the images  they have sent back.  I envision a three panel  starlit backdrop that would be hinged using a light material for portability, possibly in sections that could be dismantled and carried more easily.  The actual surface could be a multi-leveled platform that we could create a stiff draped surface that my students could paint to imitate the Martian landscape.   The habitats would be created in paper mache using recycled boxes, cups, plastic bottles, etc.  The robots would be made from a combination of things but mainly scraps of broken toys and imaginations.  The astronauts will be from what we call "paper soup" affectionately which is made from shredded paper mixed with paper mache paste that is soaked for a few days.  This mixture is messy but like rock in strength and paper in weight.  There will be rockets soaring overhead in the galaxy created using plastic bottles recycled along with other re-purposed parts.  Neighboring planets and their moons made from paper mache  will be hanging from invisible line overhead with others in relief or painted on background.  I want the kinds to make a movie of the construction, mini documentary.  I also want them to create a voice over imaginative fictional film of their trip to Mars, including some musical background that could be played and looped on a laptop or television screen to view while viewing the art installation.

When is the deadline for this project?  We were not given a concrete deadline but it is a project for this school year is my understanding.  I plan to begin working on it
after we return from the Christmas holidays and hopefully have it finished by end of February.  What materials do you plan to work with?  My students and their creativity will be the spark that brings the materials alive.  I have no budget for this and get very little to purchase supplies each year.  That is the reason we recycle in addition to our concern about the state of landfills.

What resources have you already found?  I called NASA in Houston and let them know I was doing this project, they were not familar with it but offered to give me information to do a teleconference with an astronaut after the last shuttle flight.  My dream has been to have an astronaut visit my school, but so far I have been unsuccessful.  Buzz Aldrin didn't refuse when I met him but he also didn't agree.  Charlie Duke said I couldn't afford him.  I do not have any funds for travel expenses just a big dream and many children who believe in me.

What information do you still feel is lacking?  Someone who could come and put a face on space for my students.  I try to share as much as possible, but I am not an expert.  I can provide the artistic inspiration and share the materials provided, as well as what I have researched.  However, it is the presence of someone with that faraway look in their eyes and wonder in their hearts that I pray for.

It is all about the seeds we plant in their imagination and the wunderlust we spark in their minds.

Sincerely -  An art teacher lost in space, Jan Alexander

If so, it's Milton's.

When I collected my things from Ken in the aftermath of the FenCon
party, I found in the bag a stapler with a magnetic base.
I think perhaps it belongs to Grace, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I
didn't make the meeting yesterday, where I was going to try to give it
back to its owner, so if you're missing your stapler, please contact me,
& I'll get it to you.
