All fonts were created in Font Creator, and Jody is still learning how
to use the program. Jody is aware that some of these fonts require

OFFSite has not been updated for almost 2 years now. However, I was
able to update the site these past few days with whatever fonts came
my way or with what I already had. I could not add all the new fonts
because of the 200 kb file size limitation imposed on the free
webhosting by Fateback.com. Rest assured that I will still continue
to update the site but on best effort basis only.

Added new designer pages for fonts by Digital PR8 and Sandra Rose.
The pages of Character, Christophe Feray, Graham Meade, La Vie
Dansante, LeFly and Typotheticals were also updated. Also fixed some
broken links or links that had changed. The update details are as
follows:

What's New

The size of the Windows True Type version of this font exceeds the file size limit allowed by Fateback.com. This will be made available once Spymac.com allows upload of files to its web server.

- Leafy Stencil was left unfinished for years and was recently completed by Character when someone requested for a leafy font. The font only contains uppercase letters. The font is available in True Type.

- WC Addemdum Bta comes in Light and Bold styles. It has almost a complete character set saved for a few missing symbols. The fonts are available in Open Type and Windows True Type.
  
  Christophe also sent WC RoughTrad Bta. Unfortunately, it went over Fateback.com's file size limit. The font will be made available once Fateback.com again allows uploading of files to the server.

- James Fajardo was created based on a scan of James Paul Farjardo's handwriting. The font contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numerals, punctuations and a few accented characters. The font is available in True Type.
Toto (http://freefonts.fateback.com/toto)
- Regal Initials is based on Regal from the Aridi Initial Caps Vol. I. The font contains decorated capitals on the uppercase letters (A-Z) and replicated on the lowercase letters (a-z). The font should be used at 150 points or bigger for the background to render as designed. The preview image shown below was rendered in 100 points. The font is available in True Type.
- Regal Initials Alt is similar to Regal Initials but without the lines in the background. The font contains decorated capitals on the uppercase letters (A-Z) and replicated on the lowercase letters (a-z). This font will be listed in the font menu as Regal Alt. The font is available in True Type.
- Spring Initials is based on Spring from the Aridi Initial Caps Vol. I. The font contains decorated capitals on the uppercase letters (A-Z) and replicated on the lowercase letters (a-z). The font is available in True Type and Type 1.
- Spring Initials Alt is similar to Spring Initials but for the ornaments which were separated from the capitals. The capitals are in the lowercase letters (a-z) and the corresponding ornaments are in the uppercase letters (A-Z). This font will be listed in the font menu as Spring Alt. The font is available in True Type and Type 1.
- Victoriana Initials is based on Victoriana from the Aridi Initial Caps Vol. III. The font contains decorated capitals on the uppercase letters (A-Z) and replicated on the lowercase letters (a-z). The font is available in True Type.
- Victoriana Initials Alt is the negative image of Victoriana Initials. The font contains decorated capitals on the uppercase letters (A-Z) and replicated on the lowercase letters (a-z). This font will be listed in the font menu as Victoriana Alt. The font is available in True Type.

akaDylan Plain, akaDylan Open and akaDylan Collage were added to the James Milligan [akaType] page (http://freefonts.fateback.com/james_milligan). The three fonts are available in True Type and Open Type font formats.

Fateback.com has a 200kb limit on the size of individual files uploaded to its server. Since the True Type version of akaDylan Collage is over this limit, the font for download is located at Spymac.com (You can download the TTF here). Those who chose to download the TTF at the Fateback.com page will be redirected to Spymac.com. All other fonts are located at the Fateback.com server.

- Alaskan Ice was created by combining the map of Alaska with Alaskan Nights, a freeware by by Adam Wunn. The font contains upper and lower case letters, numerals and basic punctuations. The upper case letters are superimposed on the map of Alaska. The font is best used at large font sizes, at least 64 points. Alaskan Ice is available in True Type format.
- Flower Sketches was created using a graphic alphabet that was freely available from Clipart Heaven. The font contains upper case letters for both the upper and lower case glyphs, and a few punctuations. Flower Sketches is available in True Type and Open Type formats.

The fonts are in the message area of a group hosted by Googlegroups.
It is an open group - meaning you need not be a member to access its
message area or post a message to the group. The group is moderated to
prevent spamming.

Unfortunately, Googlegroups does not like binary files. Type 1 PFMs
and PFBs are not acceptable to Google so the Type 1 of Same-Sex
Marriage and Egrette Light are not available.

Removed Egrette Light and Egrette Light Flourish from the Synergie Ltd (http://freefonts.fateback.com/synergie_ltd) page at the request of Rian Hughes of Device. However, the two fonts will be made available in another site soon, which will be announced here.
Five new fonts by three designers were added to the site, as follows:

- Dalek is a full font based on the lettering used in the Dalek Book of 1964 and in the Daleks comic strip. Dalek is available in Windows True Type. True Type and Type 1 for Mac is available from the font's character set page.
- Klee Cap Script is based on a mailart invitation lettering by Emma Klee (Baltimore, USA). The upper case is based on Emma's capitals and the lower case is freely adapted from her script. - Subway Ticker is based on an electronic display seen on a New York subway train in February 2005. Subway Ticker is available in Windows True Type.

- Cordin Freebie 2a is similar to Cordin Freebie except for the upper case letters (A-Z). Cordin Freebie is contains full character set but some characters (the 6 combining diacritical marks, dotlessi, fi and fl ligatures, Lslash, lslash, Zcaron, and zcaron) might not display because they were assigned Unicodes lower than 32 decimal (20 hexadecimal). The same problem is also present in Cordin Freebie. Cordin Freebie 2a is available in True Type, Type 1 and Open Type font formats.

What's New

Since the previous web host of OFFSite Update previews decided to terminate the hosting arrangement, Spymac will now host the previews starting with this update. With the change of web host also comes a change in how the preview is presented. It will now be presented as follows:

		•		The character on the upper left corner is the ASCII representation of the character assigned to the glyph.
		•		The number on the upper right corner is the decimal equivalent of the Unicode assigned to the glyph. You can usually use this together with the Alt key to generate a character that does not appear on the keyboard. Most programs require that a zero (0) precedes the number. However, the  and  ligatures could not be generated through this method.
		•		The character shown at the bottom is the preview of the character contained in the glyph. Unless otherwise indicated, the character is shown at 36 points.

Eight fonts by two designers were added site. All fonts are available in Windows True Type format.

  - Seven fonts comprise the Sketch group of scrapbooking type of fonts: Sketch Boards, Sketch Bones, Sketch Clothes, Sketch Logs, Sketch Pencils, Sketch Pipes and Sketch Tools.
    These fonts are from scans of the book, "Awesome Alphabets" by Mike Artell (1999). They're suitable for child-oriented scrapbook pages and similar informal usage.
    
    In making computer fonts, I'm afraid I've done the exact opposite of what the author was trying to promote - kids using their originality to create hand-drawn alphabets. I've modified some of the characters slightly for consistency.

  - Roadway
    Roadway is based on U.S. highway lettering seen on New York street signs in February 2005.
    
    Two weights of highway lettering would often be used in the same street sign, a standard condensed version used for the main name and a half-size regular for less important information like 'road' or 'street'.
    
    Roadway is a Small Caps font. The upper case is condensed capitals, the lower case consists of regular weight small caps, sized at 50% and superscript.

What's New

Replaced the LeFly font Blokletters Viltstift with a newer version. The font initially available requires minor adjustment in the � and œ ligatures. The latest font is identified as version 1.3. The LeFly page is at http://freefonts.fateback.com/lefly.
We also received a take down request from Jason Skoog. We are still verifying if the request really came from Jason Skoog, as the person who requested the removal of the fonts used a Hotmail account. It will be announced here if the page will be removed. The Jason Skoog page is at http://freefonts.fateback.com/jason_skoog.

What's New

The free webhosting account at Lycos UK that was used to show the character set of fonts added to the site will be deleted by Lycos UK due to low site traffic. We are now using images hosted free by ImageShack. Although we could not show the entire character set of the font, what we will show you is a good representation of the font's character set. A link to the image is provided for those using email clients that could not render HTML emails.
Modified the LeFly page (http://freefonts.fateback.com/lefly).
- Square Peg was renamed to Square Wise to resolve naming conflicts with a commercial font of the same name by Rob Leuschke.
- Added Blokletters, a handwriting font family in three weights - Potlood, Balpen and Viltstift. The font is available in Windows True Type. True Type and Postscript Type for Macintosh are available at LeFly's home page, http://www.vepar.demon.nl/lefly. (If you previously bookmarked LeFly's home page, replace it with the new URL.)
  
  Blokletters Balpen is the regular weight. It is a handwriting made using a ballpoint pen.

Three new fonts were added to the Keith Bates page (http://freefonts.fateback.com/keith_bates).
- Mandatory
  
  Mandatory is based on the Charles Wright typeface used in UK vehicle registration plates and conforms to the required UK registration plate specifications. Only the upper case letters and the numerals are used for registration plates. Small capitals for the lower case, currency symbols, punctuation marks, printers' symbols and accented characters were added to complete the font's characters.

  Lexia is a copyright free font designed to capture the clarity and accessibility of Comic Sans.
  Lexia is an attempt to retain the strength, friendliness and legibility of Comic Sans, and even a slightly marker-drawn feel, whilst tidying up the comic book idiosyncrasies. It adds a hint of dignity, a sprinkling of refinement, and introduces elements of designer type to appeal to a contemporary audience. Whilst Comic Sans has long been a preferred choice for infant typography from 'Baby on Board' stickers onward, its use risks undermining any serious message and appearing condescending to readers with greater visual maturity, issues that are particularly acute when applied to adolescent and adult literacy.

  - RetroCapsBW and RetroCapsWB were adapted from a clipart alphabet, DropCaps, originally from Image Club Graphics. The two fonts are available in True Type for Windows.
- Lee Gordon (http://freefonts.fateback.com/lee_gordon)
  - Bosox (Regular, Full, Outline, Outline Heavy and SemiBold) is based on a proprietary font, Boston Red Sox, made by Dennis Ortiz-Lopez for the Major League Baseball. The Full and SemiBold styles cannot be installed and used at the same time because of a conflict in their internal names. All fonts are available in True Type for Windows.
- Toto (http://freefonts.fateback.com/toto)
  - k22 You Know Who only contains one character, an image of the Dark Mark. The Dark Mark is the sign used by Voldemort (aka You-Know-Who) and his followers in the Harry Potter book series. The font was created from an image found at the J.K. Rowling website. The font is available in True Type and Postscript Type 1 for Windows, and Open Type formats.
