This is a US based group but we have several Cannucks as well as folks from Asia, OZ and parts of the EU, I guess that makes this group pretty worldly.

Sustainable/organic growing and locally raised foods are the future. Corporate agriculture and the processed GMO, drug laced "foods" that come from it are lacking in nutrition and causing all sorts of health problems as well as a myriad of environmental and political problems globally. The Green Revoltion petroleum based agriculture is killing off farms at an alarming number (currently the USA has 2x as many prisoners as farmers) in the US alone and is killing off whole cultures as corporate farming is taking subsistance farmers, that for thousands of years have feed and clothed their people well, and have taken their land and forced them to grow commodoty crops for money, that is never enough to feed and clothe their people so they plunged into desparate poverty and often lose their farming livelihood

This list is here to dicscuss these problem of corporate agriculture and what we can do about it. We are a not a group that discusses particular farming practises, generally. Though many of us here are working farmers of all stripes from the backyard hobbiest to grain growers on large acrage. We are a group that is looking at the larger (and not very pretty) picture of where agriculture is headed

We are a group that is open to anyone who raises or eats food and is concerned about farming worldwide and wants to talk about solutions or just learn more about our growing food crisis in the world.
