Atom Entertainment is a digital entertainment pioneer whose game
service — Shockwave.com — attracts some of the Internet''s largest
entertainment audiences. This full-time position is based in
Shockwave''s downtown San Francisco offices. Shockwave is wholly
owned by Viacom and is an MTVN property.

We are seeking a talented Software Developer to be a part of the
creative vision behind our site. You will be working within a fast-
paced Engineering team to develop and
maintain web-app software, workflow and infrastructure. As part of
the position,
you will gain experience with the full life-cycle of projects,
including
interacting with project managers on requirements design, technical
design,
task estimation, implementation and automated testing.

Required Skills:
- Solid computer science background
- 2 or more years of work on production server code as part of a
team of 3 or more
- Highly responsible with excellent written and verbal communication
skills
- Be able to work efficiently and independently yet play well with
others
- Experience developing websites and/or client-server applications
using
- Java, J2EE, Javascript, DHTML and CSS
- Knowledge of object-oriented methodologies

Desired Skills:
- Experience with JSP containers such as Tomcat or Resin
- Experience with SQL, JDBC and relational database architecture
- Familiarity with J2EE MVC Frameworks (Spring), JSP, Taglibs
- Knowledge of design patterns and refactoring
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl
- Ability to administer your own machine
