*Senior Development Engineer*

The Senior Development Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment
and customization of a large-scale online gaming community services
platform. The successful candidate is an expert back-end architect and
hands-on engineer who has shipped at least one large-scale, distributed
services platform.

Rebel Monkey, Inc. is a visionary start-up in New York City founded by
Nicholas Fortugno and Margaret Wallace. This position is on-site at our
offices in Manhattan.
Responsibilities

- Implement all server-side functionality using 3rd-party solutions
along with internally-developed components
- Work closely with product, creative, front-end and marketing teams
to define technical requirements
- Research and provide technology recommendations and solutions to
improve product
- Work with QA to ensure proper load and scale testing.
- Monitor and address any issues with system after deployment

Requirements

- 5 years Object Oriented programming experience
- Network programming experience
- Game development experience
- BS degree or higher in CS or related discipline
- Expert knowledge of server-side Java technology stack
- Expert knowledge of SQL and correct approaches to database
structuring
- Expert knowledge of current software development best practices,
especially agile development
- Thorough understanding of n-tier systems
- Ability and desire to communicate clearly with both technical and
non-technical staff
- Extreme commitment to constantly improving the user experience
- The legal right to work inside the United States

Nice to Have:

· Linux server admin experience

· Experience developing Java web services

· Experience with Flash/Actionscript, PHP, Python, web development
