JAVA DEVELOPER II

JOB SUMMARY:
Be part of a multi-disciplinary team creating some of the most
dynamic, compelling, and entertaining online casino games in the
industry. Use your XML/XSLT knowledge and server-side development
experience to support Wagerworks' game project development. Use your
Java development skills to expand the capabilities of the online
gaming engine - providing the general gaming capabilities for all
games. Assume ownership of key product components and be responsible
for that component's design, implementation and quality. Apply your
knowledge of software design and implementation of new features for
use in future games.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Design and implement games and game-related functionality in
a quality manner
• Work with Game Producers and the Technical Director to define
and refine game project requirements
• Provide clear technical direction and support to the game
team.
• Effectively multitask projects and deliver in a timely manner
• Contribute ideas to improve product functionality,
maintainability or performance

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree required
• 2-4 years of Core Java server-side development experience
• Experience manipulating complex XML and XSL
• Good communication skills - able to communicate effectively
with technical and non-technical personnel
• Customer focus
• Team player
• Interest / passion for games, especially casino-style games
• Other useful knowledge:
o Knowledge of software design patterns
o Experience with open source Java technologies such as Ant,
Struts, Tomcat
o Experience with BEA WebLogic application server and SQL
databases.
o Experience implementing successful high-performance
applications
o Knowledge of J2EE APIs including EJBs, JSPs, JSTL, JTA, web
services and JDBC
o Working knowledge of Linux and/or Sun Solaris
