Scheduling Power-On / Power-Off on TS-201   Message List

Re: [OpenTurbostation] Re: Scheduling Power-On / Power-Off on TS-201

I did notice in the setup optons of the TS-101 that it is possible to "auto power on when power resumes" (after a power break; system tools - hardware settings). This allows it (theoretically - I did never test) to use the following sequence:
1. Shutdown by cron script (to make sure everything is closed properly and synced to disk properly)
2. Shutdown all power by timer (clock) long after the latest possible software shutdown.
3. Powerup by the same timer on the wanted time; the earlier mentioned option should startup your qnap.
Please let us know if this works, and good luck,
Mees

Thanks for fast reply!

Is it possible to schedule power-on any other way,
like sending a WOL (Wake On Lan) packet to the TS-201?

Anyone know how to use/install cron on the TS-201
to schedule a power-off?
