In conjunction with other Open Source on OpenVMS enthusiasts we are happy to announce the creation of the new "project" on SourceForge - vms-ports.  This project can be reached at:

The intent of this project is to act as the nexus for Open Source on OpenVMS activity.  We are looking to get developers, marketers, system administrators involved in this effort.  

We need developers of OpenVMS Freeware as well as Open Source on OpenVMS ports to get involved and either host their code here or create mirrors which can be presented here.

We need people to help field bug reports and dispatch and monitor them.

We need people who will maintain the site and provide updates to the site.

We need people who will market this effort.

AND we need people who will use the results.

Our goals are to make it known the OpenVMS is very much a player in the Open Source community and that we have a commitment to Open Source. The goal is to have a resource which is not "captive" nor dependent on any single person or group so it survives.

We are JUST STARTING, so do not expect to see much yet.
