Have no idea though why Des assumes why we want to start more than a 100
years ago in changing the date.

Comes with the program/database that Des uses to write OziEx.

Good programs store date and time efficiently. i.e. use as little space
as possible on disk.

A number is best and zero date/time has to be based on likely use. So
beginning of the century is a good one to choose.

Date is often the whole part of the number and the time as the decimal
part. So 100.5 is 100 days from base date at 12:00 noon.
