Folks and Fran,
It is never a good idea to have two anti-virus products running at the same time. You want to make sure that AVG is really not running and won't simply uninstall.
Try the uninstall from the Start, All Programs, and the AVG menu.
Try the uninstall from the Start, All Programs, and the AVG menu.
If that doesn't work, try downloading AVG (I can give you the file at the next meeting if you have a USB drive), follow the normal installation instructions, but choose "Uninstall" when given the chance.
And if that doesn't work, try a program like the Free CCleaner.
Good Luck!
Cheers,
Rob

| Rob, I am unable to uninstall my 7.5 AVG. I went to the control panel and went through the procedure and it reports an error and failure to uninstall. Since the AVG is not active do I have to follow up with an official uninstall before I install AVAST?? Thank you for your help. Fran --- On Wed, 4/29/09, Rob Gray <robgray24@hotmail.
