Re: [PSIRG] Why are the skeptics better?

Olavi:  The skeptics you are talking about, and I don't mean reasonable skeptics, seem simply loud and arrogant to me.  THere is no way anyone can come close to studying all  the phenomena and literature available in one lifetime.  There are many fascinating reads like Dean Radin, Rupert Sheldrake, Gary Zuka, Fritjof Capra etc.  Donna

Hi all!

Everybody ought to know Project Alpha, the sad history for parapsychology. I
searched with Google in the web what could be found there about the case.
And there was a lot of material as everybody could guess. But alas, nearly
everything was skeptical.

The original article by Randi was repeated on and on in very numerous sites.
You know his style, mocking and ridiculing. I have understood that there are
lies and seriously flawed information in his article. But where is the
correct information? It is nearly nonexistent. Only a book review with one
paragraph:

http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2320/is_n1_v59/ai_17935540#continue .

There was only one other link, but it was not currently available. Marcello
Truzzi has written a certainly good paper, but it is available only in the
old journal Zetetic Scholar.

I have myself checked many skeptical articles, written for example by Randi
and Martin Gardner. They give colored and incomplete information and even
tell unmistakable lies. In my opinion parapsychologists ought to point out
such shortcomings very clearly an systematically. Or has parapsychology so
good funding all the time that it is OK to let people think that all
parapsychologists are believing nuts?

Hello Olavi, Project Alpha occurred in 1981, 25 years ago. I don't understand the relevance of this to your characterization of the history of parapsychology...
