Hello Olavi,
Project Alpha occurred in 1981, 25 years ago. I don't
understand the relevance of this to your
characterization of the history of parapsychology as
"sad."
What I hear you asking for is integrity in the test
results. You want accuracy in your results.
Regarding the "who's right" question, I'd like to
point out that part of the scientific method is that
it has to be reproducible and falsifiable. If it is
not reproducible, we have no way of knowing that it
will work more than once, and if that is the case,
attempts at reproduction and building on that is
fruitless. Therefore, if parapsychologists, or any
scientist for that matter, were to not find measurable
results, that avenue of science would become deceased.
If it is not falsifiable, that is, if it cannot be
scientific if it does not admit the possibility of
being shown false.
Try http://tinyurl.com/qtgb2 one is about replication
and meta-analysis in parapsychology and the other
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PSI_research/files/
is a classic article on whether psi exists.
If you have difficulty obtaining the files, log in to
Yahoo first; otherwise write me privately at
a2psientist at yahoo dot com and I will send them to
you directly.
Hopefully you will find honest skeptics to listen to.
Randi and others are not sincere in their search for
answers.
Sincerely,
Mike Wilson
