Yes, I knew that already rather well. My question was only rhetoric, sort of
self-irony and meant to provoke discussion. But in my opinion that is also a
very serious matter.
In Finland the mainstream scientific community is totally in the hands of
skeptics. Academic research work in pure parapsychology is practically
impossible in Finland. Only fringe areas such as beliefs, folklore,
information gathering and so on are allowed. The professors are afraid of
their chairs and the reputation of their departments. It is certain that
mainstream scientists in Finland don't read parapsychological journals, and
their knowledge of parapsychology is minimal. They think that parapsychology
is the same as New Age.
It would be very important to have the best possible information available
in the web. There are already huge quantities of articles, but there would
still be much to do. In the archives are still innumerable key papers that
are practically unavailable. For example the Rosenheim case original papers
and the Marcello Truzzi paper about Project Alpha. They ought to be in the
web in HTML format and free to be copied. Then they would be rapidly spread
all over the web as had happened with the article by Randi.
I think it is not possible to get much money with the copyrights of the old
papers. Scanning them to the web is inexpensive nowadays. Freely and easily
attainable good information would strongly promote parapsychology. And
especially methodologically disclosing the lies of skeptics would be
important. Now it is generally believed in Finland that they are the real
and reliable scientists working with the best scientific methods. Hard core
skeptics are naturally hopeless, but the information is needed for moderate
scientists.
