First Announcement: Mexico Botanical Ecotour-Fall, 2009
Back by popular demand, the Fall Botanical Ecotour in Southern Mexico is a perennial favorite, featuring an astonishing diversity of habitats, floral displays, and Day of the Dead celebrations. We will visit high desert, oak pine forest, tropical forest, cloud forest, tropical deciduous and thorn forest. Feature plant groups include cycads, palms, orchids, cactus, agaves, salvias, dahlias, composites, beaucarneas, dasylirions, yuccas and many others. It’s the ideal time to visit the region because the rains are over, the days are cooler, and many species are in full bloom. I am circulating this announcement to those of you who have previously requested information as well as past participants. The tentative dates are October 23-November 4 (or thereabouts). The cost per person (double occupancy) is estimated to be approx. $2550 (or thereabouts), inclusive of all costs and fees from point of departure in Oaxaca (hotel, meals, transportation, fuel, tolls, guides, entrance fees, beverages, etc.) As always, the itinerary and dates are subject to group approval and so I now seek an indication of your interest and input as to your preferences as far as dates are concerned. I am also curious to know your principle botanical interests as well as interests in other facets of travel in Mexico (cuisine, culture, architecture, ruins, churches, weavings, art, language, bird-watching, insects, reptiles, mammals, etc. etc.) Please refer to my (still under construction) website, www.mexiconaturetours.com for additional information and testimonials from past participants. And please reply ASAP to let me know if you would like to reserve a space on the tour…or would like additional information. Also, please feel free to pass this along…
Many thanks for your interest in my ecotours. Hope to see you in Mexico this October.
Sincerely,
Jeff Chemnick
