The human body

Very informative!

One human hair can support 3kg (6.6 lb).

The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.

A
woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your
feet.

Women blink twice as often as
men.

The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are
standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

Women reading this will be finished now.

Men are still busy checking their thumbs.

Agreed it is spam/junk.  But seriously, this is a seriously list?  What are we up to now… 3 posts a month, usually about someone selling some seeds?

On to a serious question then.  I have about 70 palms in my yard here in Atlanta.  Livistonia Decipiens, sabal minor, sabal palmetto, needle, livistona chinensis, butia, windmill, mex fan palm, etc., along with some cycads and hardy yucca.   Place looks like a jungle.  Really cool.  All do well, and the only one I wrap in the winter is the sago.  When I don’t, it looks like crap, but it survives nonetheless.

The only problem I have is with my cabbage palms.  Scale.  I’ve done the neem oil sprays, etc. but nonetheless a few of the really tall ones (25’+) aren’t really getting it.  I’ve tried some systemics but not sure if I have the right one for specifically targeting sabal scale.  Anyone have recs on systemic products to nail this a little better?  Or anything else?  I’ve also heard you can drench the roots with the hort oil but that seems strange since I thought it was purely for topical suffocation when they are in the active/moving stage.

Thanks in advance.

Scale problems:  For me, the problem is always ants which farm scale and other sucking insects.  Check for ants traveling up guard and to harvest the scale's sugary secretion.  Get rid of the ants and the scale go to, I have found.

this sounds so TERRIBLY WRONG drenching the roots in oil! i have been
known on rare occasions when dealing with an implacable foe, to use a
systemic poison, usually it is Rose Food and poison in one, and it is
so commonly available I FORGOT THE NAME. you get it at home depot. it
says do not use it on container plants, which are the only plants on
which I do use it.

I only know one joke about palms

As the hurricane said to the coconut palm....

(i am not giving you the punch line but you can write and ask for it)
