It is not clear if you are moving to Vancouver of Vancouver Island.

I don't know if there is anybody else in this list living in Victoria.
But sure, we can always plan a day of pano shooting. Is there interest
in having such a day out?

I am in Paris for the next 10 days but we could aim for a day in the
second half of Oct.

The wiki artikle (s.a.) is finished for the time being (diagram still
missing). You should be able now to estimate what precision you need.
Interesting thing that the parallax error in the finished panorama
does not depend (directly) on the used focal length (only on the
rotation angle between shots and the displacement of the no-parallax
point).

Please tell me if there are some errors, since I did the calculation
all on my own ;-)

Hi All,
I am looking for a QuickMount for my panoramic set.
I need a ROUND version, about 5-5,5 cm, no flex, top and bottom perfect in
line.
I thought a http://www.novoflex.de/html_d/fr_ha6.htm would do, but top and
bottom are not in line.
About 2-3mm off :-(
Any ideas ?
Have Fun.

I was doing some windows shopping the other day and found

Ideesign Q-top Quick Release
http://www.photographyreview.com/mfr/ideesign/tripod-heads-and-accessories/PRD_1\
43448_3134crx.aspx
out of production and rare as hens teeth

novoflex mini quick release which you have just mentioned is not
suitable in practice.

Slik had a nice looking system on some monopods were you just
insterted a peg/post. But I could not find it seperate from a monopod.
Though if you bought an entire ball head with a circular quick release
some of them looked promising but I got lost trying to find my way
though their

FLM power release system was more in my price range. Small and round
though how sturdy it would be I don't know. Relatively cheap though,
in comparison anyway.

Anyway as I said just amateur window shopping but I throw it in as fodder.

I'm looking for a camera to replace my existing older dslr (Nikon) and
like the feel of the Olympus E-510. My appeal is not so much for
shooting my panos but hiking and biking. The Olympus and it's lenses
are so much smaller and they have an 8mm full frame fisheye for it. So
I cannot afford 2 cameras and an opportunity to purchase a 510 at a
super price appealed to me but then. . .

I saw the images, they are much more square than the traditional 3:2

creating spherical panos. Does anyone out there use this type of camera?

If I remember correctly, the square format does not give you a full 180
degrees view from Z to N, so you would have to shoot two extra shots, which
would work against a super lightweight Great lenses and great camera though.

Hi Andrew,

My Name is Guillermo(Bill) Acosta and Yes I live here in Victoria, BC, Canada

photographers, enthusiast and hobbies (like myself) is just matter of them

I could be of assistance in a limited way; nonetheless better than nothing.

What are your plans?

Yes, thanks. In GoLive it's under Advanced/Line Breaks.

Strangely enough, Internet Explorer has as far as I know does not care
if the text lines in the code end with CR or CR/LF. The one exception
that I found was with the line:

<!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet -->

that, it appears, MUST end with CR/LF for it to work.

I live on Salt Spring Island, between Vancouver (the city) and
Vancouver Island (Victoria).

A West Coast gathering? nice idea, but I'm no organizer. Meanwhile
I'll be happy to meet with other panographers who live or are visiting

It's a nice camera with wide assortment of lenses...but I think
the sensor size has a crop-factor of 2!?? The 8mm would be
a 16mm equivalent.

Yes - the 8mm will be 16mm on a Olympus.
Even the Olympus lens will be cropped- as you said factor 2 !.

If you look for a real 8mm equivalent work- 4 shots for a 360 pano - I don´t
think Olympus will do.
As far as I know you have to shot 6 , full spherical: + z + n .

Let me try again to walk you through with pleinpot:

Start Pleinpot
drag and drop your VR pano ( the XXXX.MOV file) onto pleinpot
made the settings in pleinpot ( Fullscreen, text etc)

Hit the EXPORT button

Create a NEW folder from within the export window gave this folder a
NAME ,THAT NAME will be later the address name of your website, so
choose it carefully and avoid spaces or special characters.

Hit the save button in the open export window.

All files and htm will be created in that folder.

NOW

copy the complete folder to your webserver

if the name of your webserver would be for example www.hansio.com
then the address for that fullscreen pano would be:
www.hansio.com/NAME ( if that folder would be on the root level of
your webserver)

(my webserver is the idisk of Apple, which appears on my desktop as
it would be another drive !! = easy )

Thats all

Hello Willy,
thanks a lot for these intsructions. At the moment the idisk is synchronising
and so that will take some time. Later I will give it a try if that works. I
did put it in the folder my website and hope that's the one.
I'm curious how you make those beautifull pages as you have there now.
Is it ok with that I will give you a call someday to find out? I also can call
by Skype so the price is not a big deal that way.
I promise to call at a decent time.
Greetings from Hungary.

You can change the quality with preview.quality parameter in the project
file so for example if you add the line

preview.quality=40

in the "project file" - tab the quality for all preview tiles will be 40.

Ideesign Q-top Quick Release, That's what I am looking for (x2) ! but eh, not
available. :-(
hmmsomethingelse, thanks for the idea.
Jook, the Giottos MH 500 is nice but it has 2 mail screws on both side is
that so ?
Indeed the idea is to mount my NN3 arm with base on a Seitz VR rotator via a
QM adapter,
(http://tinyurl.com/yt6vvv) but I also want to use the same top on a normal
rotator so I need a mail/female solution in line.
(Jook, a 1/4 thread is yet in the drive)
The Ideesign Q-top Quick Release is perfect.
Thanks for tips
Have Fun.

Hi Hans,

No. Its just an example file, a movie you want to publish.

> I seem to get lost this way.
I will try to simplify it more.

> Can you give me a hint where to find info on this matter?
I dont know the .mac editor. But it really does not matter. You just have
to copy the directory to the ftp space where your other pages or files
are. Thats your root domain. You hyperlink (to the pages for each format
generated) from one of you existing pages like you do for your other
location samples. The pages will come up as new windows.

> By the way, did you look at my pano's, for example the vineyards?
Yes. Vinyard and Zsohnay. Those seem to to have a remap and or projection
problem, but that has nothing to do with the publishing of the pages.
Those qtvrs are not confined to the space you target them for and are
bigger than the page designed for and display only part in Firefox.

> Oh, one other q. How do I publish in Java so that also window users
> can see them?
Well, its is included in the Pleinpot editor if you choose to add that to
your preferences. You can do Quicktime, PanageaVR,PurePlayer(Java),Spi-V,
Pano2Qtvr(Flash) and DevalVR all at the same time with one imput qtvr
sample.
For PurePlayer and Spi-V and Pano2qtvr you have to add additional files
and applets to the directory manually.
It is described on each panel in red on the bottom of that page of the
preferences.

Cheers, Milko

Thank you Jook,

That is a very nice intimate capture. A virtual vernissage. Excellent
work, Jook.

The pano installation looks awesome....it could pass as a real window with
a view to the city, no doubt. Outstanding work, Joergen.

GIGA pixel pano. That is how you bring million dollar views into a
basement (or room) with no windows.

I have enjoyed this.

Cheers, Milko
