Thats because he has the stupid idea that the movequality should be high by
default.
Denis has done the same for FPP which means I also need to change the
motionQuality2 to
low when updating to the flash 10 viewer

I can see that the KRPano developer (sorry can not remember his name) claims
that he did
it because it is no difference.
Really if it was no difference between low and high why the h... does he supply
us with a
special setting for the Flash 10 quality.

I checked the difference on my Mac in Fullscreen and framerate on my old
DualCore G5 is
only 14 with High quality but 19 with low.
If I change to Flash 9 I get only 9 for HIGH quality and 14 for LOW

So my Framerate is faster with KRPano Flash 10

Hi All,

I take back my recommendation of Rosco Cinegels, they aren't true ND

Yes, it is. It will be a bit more flexible than the Mathmap script,
and way easier to use. Take a while, though.

Having now actually looked, I see that the latest version of MathMap
is 1.3 and the one available for Windows is 1.2. PVFlat does require
version 1.3.

I've been playing around with a Java object viewer.

It takes a zip archive with jpeg, gif or png files. Shows them
in the order loaded in the zip archive. Gif and png supports transparency.
Jpeg does not.

Click/Drag mouse to rotate. The farther you drag, the faster it rotates in
the direction you drag.

To AutoRotate, use Left/Right arrow keys.

That's pretty much all it does. I'm trying to keep it minimal. The
Java viewer is about 22kb.
f
I'm using the Cow that someone posted in this group a while ago. My apologies
but I've forgotten who did that. Whoever posted the Cow, tell me what
attribution and website you would like the viewer linked to and I'll fix it up
so that the viewer shows the correct attribution and will open your website
when it's clicked.

You can put tinyURL as bookmarklet into your toolbar, which is very fast
and convenient: http://tinyurl.com/#toolbar

This works for other pages, too. Put this line
javascript:void(location.href='http://wiki.panotools.org/Special:Search?search='\

in the location field of a bookmark and you get instant search of a

Where the panos ok before enfusing? Where they ok immediately after
enfusing? If not, did you specify the -w switch in order to enfuse
around the +/-180° seam?

White balance is a global operation, hence it should not create any seam
problem. Didn't you do any local operations like shadows/highlights,
large radius USM etc.?

I just loaded the RAW files into PTGui 8.1, made a template from the 0 EV,
applied the template to the +/-2EV's... each of the resulting panos was off
on color cast, but figured I could correct the final image rather than mess
with 3 individual images - I enfused (with your 360° droplet batch file -
thanks btw) and came up with a pretty good image, just the wrong color cast
and WB... everything is too warm.

I can correct the image to my liking in CS3 (the only thing I'm doing is
defining the white point via CTL-L, and selecting a white point with the
dropper), but when I export that to a jpg for use in krpano I end up with a
very visible seam across the 180° boundary...

Currently playing with the 3 exposures and photomatix to see what i can come
up with, but definitely prefer the look of enfuse...

I assume you men the 360 degree boundary.
180 is the zenith.

That's odd. There were problems with 6u11. Click on the Java icon

I had FF3 installed -- for a day. Was very unstable on my machine.

Roger,

That horse pano is just awesome. I really enjoy your panos :) Please
post more here on the list.

I only wish your "pano page" was a fluid size, to be bigger in my
browser window. The fullscreen on flash 10 is always too choppy for
me, with any site / flash pano viewer.

Depends on where you put the point of origin. If 0° is the center the
seam is at +/- 180°. Zenith would then be +90°, nadir -90°. This is how
Yaw and Pitch is used in panotools, PTGui and so on...

You can check the +/-180° seam inside photoshop already if you use the
offset filter on the flattened image (Filter->Other->Offset, check Wrap
Around and Preview and shift f.e. half the width). The CTL-L levels
adjustment (which BTW isn't a proper white balance) should by no means
cause the seam.

How did you shoot the images? AFAIK dcraw (from within PTGui) uses the
camera white balance hence if you shot them on auto white balance the
problem might be there. On the other hand the blender should eliminate
any hard seam. However, RAW file handling inside PTGui is not suitable
for high quality work anyway, hence I recommend using your favorite RAW
converter which would not only solve the white balance problem...

I had a feeling somebody might say that about using PTGui with RAW... it was
just too easy!

Back to my old workflow of exporting RAW to 16-Bit TIFF...

BTW - where ARE you correcting the WB? And what setting are you using on
your camera?

I was under the impression that the on-camera WB didn't affect the RAW -
only the JPG that was created...

Those gells are for use on lights not on lenses.

As you've noted .. they're not optical quality.

They are not sold for any uses but light gels.

The cine industry uses high quality glass ND filter that are color neutral.

Depends. Easy subjects can be shot with fixed WB - either a preset or
measured from a white card (or a piece of paper). Difficult subjects
are better adjusted individually in RAW converter.

> I was under the impression that the on-camera WB didn't affect the RAW -

That's true. But the WB setting is stored in Metadata as well. Since
PTGui doesn't allow to adjust WB during RAW conversion it tells dcraw
to use this stored WB.

Thanks Erik - good knowledge to know!

I was using the latest enfuse 360° droplets from here:
http://www.erik-krause.de/enfuse_droplets.zip

I am using the enfuse_droplet_360 as my droplet of choice...

If I use the offset filter to view THE seam of an equi - each source image
0EV, +2EV and -2EV - none of them have a seam.

If I drop each of these TIFF equi's onto the enfuse_droplet_360, open the
resulting _enfused TIFF in PS3, and use the offset filter - I end up with a
visible deviation on the blended seam... any suggestions?

One additional bit of info - if I use Ingemar's EnfuseGui with the -180/+180

Hi Jeffrey,

I do these panos in high quality and low quality so people with slow
connections and older computers can enjoy them too.
When shooting the horse pano and a lot of the others I was also
shooting HD video at the same time, you can see the camcorder when
looking down in the dancing horse pano.

Here are the photos I've gotten done so far from this last trip to
India.
Use the buttons at the lower right of the panos for going to the
next one.
More will be added later.

Nagaur Cattle Fair. Dancing horse and dancing camel competition.

Jaisalmer Desert Festival. Camel parade staging area near the lake,
and following the camels going through town to the fort. This link
has about 5 photos.
http://indiavrtours.com/jaisalmer/camel_staging4.html

Here are some other views from around the Jama Masjid and Red Fort
in Delhi. This link has about 6 photos.

Cheers,
Roger Berry

My apologies! For one or the other reason the version in the zip was
missing the relevant switch. Please download again, it should work now...

Maybe there's a cacheing problem. I just downloaded the zip file and
found that the enblend_droplet_360.bat has a date stamp of 27/02/09.

Hi all,

I had not posted a notice here yet, but recently PTGui 8.1 was released.
Among the new features are a Batch Builder in the Pro version and
several new projections.

Details can be found here:

thanks Thomas, but they only make very high quality glass filters from
what I can tell, the nikon 10.5 and Sigma 8 require a gelatin filter
for their back location. At least I don't think you could put glass in
their, a bit too thick.

But they do make great filters, I have one of their 77mm circular
polarizing filters and it's great - but very expensive.

And FYI - if you've not emailed me already then I'm afraid its too
late, all the little bits of gelatin are spoken for.

Regards,

Robert
