The talk was about the new Olympus Pen and it only has max 3 exposures at 1EV
difference which is just as good as no bracketing at all.

Nikon D300, D700 and D3 all have • 2 to 9 frames
• 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 or 1 EV steps

Even if that covers your need it is a large waste of space and especially waste
of time for taking them.
What you need for best HDR is 4-5 exposures with 1,5 - 2 EV steps

When you have to take 9 exposures to cover it and you need a mirror up and
several seconds exposure you really do not want to waste the time with more than
needed exposures.

All Canons has only 3 at +-2EV except the Pro EOS-1d markII

But what all the semi professional cameras do not have the new Panasonic GF1
has.
It has • 3, 5 or 7 frames • 1/3 to 2.0 EV steps Which is the best I seen in any
camera.

It's not a dummy Hans, it is fully functional.
My plan is to somehow add a second laser at an adjustable angle, so I can
accurately measure height as well.
I used a simple laser pointer intended for office use, they're not too
expensive. The mount was made from a solid bar of aluminium using common hand
tools, a lathe, a bucket of elbow grease and a lot of time.

Yes but your is much shorter than the ones I found.
They are all 130-150mm which is not handy to mount in the shoe.
Your is only around 90mm I believe.

Is a 5mw enough to give a visible point in full sunlight. I never used a
laserpen.
I seen some pages say that they are visible in sunlight but it was a 10mW
Also do they always have an on off button or do you have to keep it pressed.

I have found a cheap one here which is just 8cm but I suspect it is a very weak
one.

Hi all,

On January 21 I posted a mail [1] to the hugin-ptx and the panotools-ng
group about extended enfuse and enblend documentation written by dr.
Christopher Spiel and published on my site.

Since then Christoph has been busy improving, expanding and bug-fixing
enblend and enfuse. He had already started an official spin-off development
branch. His developments have recently been merged into the official tree
and ARE now the official tree and we are now heading towards a version 4.0
release. You can find this development tree at enblend.sourceforge.net.
Enblend/enfuse have switched from CVS to Mercurial.

Next to further developing enblend and enfuse to the next level, he also
continued writing and correcting the documentation and expanding the formats
in which it is (can be) published.

I updated the "EandE-documentation" page on my website at <
http://panorama.dyndns.org/EandE-documentation/>. This documentation is
dated 11 August 2009.
Again: *this is not my work at all. All credits go to Christoph Spiel.*

Note also that Andrew Mihal is the creator ("father") and main developer of
enblend/enfuse until 3.2 when he started working on a GPU enhanced version
of nona.

Hoi,
Harry

This one isn't too powerful either at less that 1mW.
I don't think it would be certified for office use (and legal in this country)
if it was more powerful though.
Total length is 100mm and it loads two 1.5V batteries marked "N" size SUM5 R1.
The switch must be kept pressed, so I used a screw for that. I also tapped a
1/4" thread in the top face of the mount so I can mount it on a tripod or
whatever suits my fancy.

Well, I only have the E-520, and am limited to -1 to +1 as maximum. It is
my understanding that also E-600, E620 and E-30 have the same limitation.

I will try to ask people in the camera business here in Peru if they have
connections to anyone who can hack their way into the firmware and make
changes there. Anything is possible... it's just a question of getting the
right connections.... or the right cameras.

And yes Hans, I read the announcement of GF1 last night, and it is
impressive.. and in many ways it outshines the Oly Pen.

I won't be upgrading my camera (recently purchased it) until a replacement
for E-3 is available.

Google for that. I know the Canon firmware has been hacked to add
functionality so there's probably someone out there who's already hacked
Olympus' firmware.

Smart solution to a real issue.

I'm going to get a couple of keychain lasers and try them out. Last time I
had one of those, the light strength was ok for daylight conditions inside,
but not at all in sunlight situation.

Don't worry, Imatronics patent on air does not cover inhaling... but should
you exhale... the story is different!

Here is an interactive version of this timelapse movie using Pano2VR to make the
video panorama.
http://www.mediavr.com/ultimotimelapse.htm

There is a good video tutorial for this on their site
http://gardengnomesoftware.com/tutorial.php?movid=15
this should download progressively and play back smoothly once it is all
downloaded (7meg). It could be a lot smaller than this for this window size
perhaps.

Drats. That's NOT what I wanted to hear! :-P
Thanks for the links.

I do have FF, ...just would have been more... convenient.

Cheers,

Peter ,
Your ideas are always so inspiring !

I love your work !

regarding this particular project :
Do You think similar results could be achieved with Tokina 10-17 ?

I see minor overlap problems with you Nikkors,
In landscape at 12mm Tok would have 190 degrees FOV Enough ?

Did you have any problems with exposures not exactly at the same time ?
I thought about 5D mark 2 - a couple of those could make a nice 30pcs/s movie
...

Thanks again for your great posts here !

You are true. The only hack I know of is chdk for compact canons.
My A640 is proudly hacked and made some beautyful things in terms of
timelapse etc.
