Is this an idea ? very sturdy and easy to handle.
(Feisol tripod + Fanotec pole + pole rotator + tripod adapter)

Hello Peter
the iStar is not only to stills

It can be used to Video too !!!

That's the info that : Andrew Baddeley
Published on the super active Facebook Panoramic Photographers Group even before the launch of this camera in England last month.

"It's capable of outputting to touch tablet a live 360 degree stream as either navigable Pano or equirectangular projection at up to 25fps.
You can also record the source images to HD and post process to create a set of panos 10,000x5,000 px at a rate of 3 per second.
You can then merge to a 360 video via KRPano etc.
Of course if you drop the res then you can increase the framerate."

The Facebook Group it is an amazing space for up to date information as well.

They should sell them to Google. Then maybe their Street View imagery would

There are no more correction sliders in acr 6.7.

It’s fully automatic.

Has anyone done some comparisons between acr 6.7 and manual corrections with 6.6?

It appears to work, but I’m a little concerned about how well it works without any accurate exif data (Nikon lens on canon).

Yes, you can use photosynth. I haven't actually confirmed this myself, but photosynth displays panoramas beautifully on iPhones and iPads, so it seems certain that it will do so on Microsoft's own phones.

these are interesting I think. He is an artist who uses CHDK and a Canon compact
and a telescope rotator to shoot rotating time lapse movies -- but then he
arranges the footage in 10 degree slices each offset in time from its neighbours
-- to compose a complete 360 view on the screen in 36 slices. So potentially you
get the high resolution of a single view across a very wide format. Surprisingly
the motion still looks natural split up like that.

We need center, and corner 100% crop comparisons.

J

I still see a bit of CA on the edges in the new version, which is why I bring this up also since it appears to be content dependent.. I’m wondering if the large amount of un-unused sensor area might affect it, or even mess with consistency, for fisheyes.

these are interesting I think. He is an artist who uses CHDK and a Canon compact and a telescope rotator to shoot rotating time lapse movies -- but then he arranges the footage in 10 degree slices each offset in time from its neighbours -- to compose a complete 360 view on the screen in 36 slices. So potentially you get the high resolution of a single view across a very wide format. Surprisingly the motion still looks natural split up like that.

Here is a layered tif. 5d with 10.5

One is manual and one is the new version 6.7 auto.

I am not going to tell you which is what.

I'm not seeing huge differences between the two, but the background layer
seems to have slightly less purple fringing. Also, less falloff at the
edges. And the winner is...?

Thanks for posting the image!

Layer 1 is superior in aberration correction, with a trade-off of being slightly blurrier.

Here is another one which has a nasty bluefringe which is almost impossible to
remove completely without extra desatuarion

It's Tokina 10-17 at 10mm.

Hans, how about posting 100% crops of a corner or something?
Your samples are huge and take a long time to download.

Pretty crappy image Hans for a comparison, little good subject matter to see aberration and the background layer one is over sharpened and has sharpening halos comparatively.

I still think Layer 1 is better in aberration.. but its close enough not to care about any more.

Thanks for the examples.

Finally a new website for Flashificator, along with more information, news, user
gallery with select works etc. has been published a couple of days ago.

The user gallery contains some of the world's best designed tours, and it shows
the potential of what non-coders can do when they have the right tools at their
disposal.

Direct link to the gallery is here: http://flashificator.com/gallery.htm

An iOS player is still in the works for Flashificator users, and an Object Movie
Maker for use independently or for integration in panos is also being worked on
(flash based version aimed at current FFC build, but later on a different
version will be made for iOS and other limited media devices).

Other projects are also in the pipeline, and all requires time... so no matter
how eagerly we may wish for everything to be out and ready right now... time has
it's own schedule, and none of us are in control of time itself.

Hopefully you will like what you see.

Trausti
