    Take heart Man, you did a good thing, and a few showed up.  There are many of
us here, who understand set backs.

and each year celebrate that everybody is safe, well, and able to do another
years worth of investigating coming up. We have many nice things planned for
the future at least a few out of state trips coming up and as I said before
we are no longer just restricted to Buffalo. Each and every member is
appreciated and your support means everything, donations, books, helping out
investigating, coming to our parties, participating on the message board.
When minds our put together great achievements can be meant. Achievements
such as finding the truth, learning about things such as ghost, ufos etc. We
have had our bad apples are trouble makers, our whacky investigators but none
have stopped us from doing what we like most and that is learning about the
paranormal. This speech is late because I was not online on the feb 20th
anniversary date however the point is that this is a great organization and

Ancient Batteries Could be Lost in War
27-Feb-2003



Archeologists are worried that the extraordinary ancient relicts of Iraq may
be injured or destroyed during the upcoming war. Iraq is supposed to be the
site of the Garden of Eden and the Tower of Babel, and its early
civilizations invented writing and the wheel. It's also the home of ancient
batteries, which are in the museum of Baghdad.

German archaeologist Wilhelm Konig found the first battery in 1938. It's a
five-inch-long clay jar containing a copper cylinder surrounding an iron rod.
The vessel showed signs of corrosion, and tests revealed that vinegar or wine
had been used in it. Konig decided it must have been used as a battery. About
a dozen of the batteries have been unearthed so far. "The batteries have
always attracted interest as curios," says Paul Craddock, of the British
Museum. "As far as we know, nobody else has found anything like these."

The batteries are dated to around 200 BC, which means they were made by the
Parthians, who were skilled warriors but not known for scientific
achievements. "Although this collection of objects is usually dated as
Parthian, the grounds for this are unclear," says St. John Simpson, who also
works at the British Museum. "The pot itself is Sassanian. This discrepancy
presumably lies either in a misidentification of the age of the ceramic
vessel, or the site at which they were found." The Sassanian period (225-640
AD) marks the end of the ancient and the beginning of the more scientific
medieval era.

It's known that the batteries work, because Professor Marjorie Senechal has
created replicas that conduct an electric current. "I don't think anyone can
say for sure what they were used for, but they may have been batteries
because they do work," she says. They can produce 0.8 to almost two volts.

If the batteries were connected by wires, they could have produced higher
voltages. "It's a pity we have not found any wires," says Craddock. "It means
our interpretation of them could be completely wrong." Some ancient Egyptian
hieroglyphics seem to contain images of batteries, and primitive batteries
may be lying in museums misidentified, especially if some of the parts are
missing.

The low voltage put out by these batteries couldn't have driven machines, but
they might have been used in medicine. The ancient Greeks wrote about the
pain killing effect of electric eels. The Chinese had developed acupuncture
by this time, and they still use acupuncture combined with an electric
current. This may explain the needle-like objects that have been found with
some of the batteries.

Other scientists believe the batteries were used for electroplating jewelry
or money. Arne Eggebrecht connected many replica batteries together using
grape juice as an electrolyte, and deposited a thin layer of silver on
another surface. However, no electroplated items dating from that period have
been excavated from that part of Iraq.

Connected batteries may have been hidden inside a metal statue or idol, so
that anyone touching it would get a tiny shock and experience the god's
"power." Craddock says, "I have always suspected you would get tricks done in
the temple."

Well i was sorta put in a bind to go alone last night the party ended early
and so i had no choice everybody left. But this cemetery is very peaceful i
know there is something there i can feel it and i get good photos from this
cemetery but when you spend a hour walking around like i did last night it
doesnt even cross your mind anymore that your alone or that there is ghost
all around you you get use to it.

Well tonight after everybody went home from the party i decided to go to St
augustines cemetery for a second investigation. I really wanted to get out
tonight to investigate it was a calm night not many people out. So i took off
in the van drove around this very pretty cemetery. This is the type of
cemetery that you could sleep in at night pretty statues made out of granite,
marble, and stone. Many curvy roads, fields, pretty trees of all kinds. I got
out and took a walk from the back to the front then circled around back to
the car so pretty much I walked around the whole cemetery. Half of the
cemetery is well lit by a building spotlight actually 2 seperate buildings
and its as bright as day time on one side of it which makes it nice for
reading the headstones and getting good photos. There seemed to be some mild
activity now and then you get glimpses of things one area that seems to
interest me there is the Angel Garden almost as if its many children buried
there interesting none the less. I took about 15 kodak photos and 40 digital
photos and some of the digitals this time actually came out. I had 3 seperate
photos on the digital that contained BEAUTFIFUL ectoplasm i looked briefly at
them and it seems i have 2 children ghost in one of the photos and a few
other ghost in the other 2 very nice indeed. One thing that did occur and im
positive of is that i felt something walking along with me you almost could
hear it but then when i turned to look nobody was there this seemed to happen
often i found it pleasant like we were sharing a walk together as i took
photos. There was snow including a pile near a grave that was quite high
found it odd but perhaps someone was recently buried.. As i went to one of
the older sections i felt a snow ball hit me i know it could have been snow
from my hiking boots but this was different it was like someone picking up
snow and throwing it at you perhaps it felt like a playful kid trying to get
my attention somehow. The statues seem to be looking at you such as this one
angel which really caught my attention which i spent time near because of an
odd cold spot or wind. All in all it was not a bad investigation. I will put
the digital photos up soon and hopefully get the 35mm developed next week for
everybody to see.

Next month we will be planning a investigation in the kinzua area for bigfoot
and the unknown beast that seems to also reside in the woods. We are going to
try to get as much evidence as we can of foot prints, hair samples, look for
ufos at night. If you want to go email me privately and join the team it wont
be warm since we will be doing some hiking in the cold however we will have a
warm basecamp so you can warm up and of course when you are alseep you will
be in warmth not outdoors so if you want to go you gotta contact me i will
NOT do this one by myself this takes people and a group effort especially
when you are tracking such an elusive creature. I do not have a date set i
just know very soon we are going up there and ill be taking volunteers to

Well instead of doing that haunted house kim and I ended up investigating Mt
Olivet cemetery. I will have to find more history on this place but its a
very gorgeous old cemetery surrounded by large trees, rod iron gates, bushes
etc. We went there about midnight there was a sleet storm so ice skating
seemed to occur quiet often as i walked down the icey roads. There was not a
lot of activity at this cemetery. Although oddly enough my camera has auto
flash and for more then half of the photos the flash refused to work in
certain areas along with my batteries for the digital were also drained.
Cemeteries are generally peaceful places unless you find one thats been
vandalized then you got problems.  I definitaly want to go back here. I took
50 digital photos and 25 kodak ones i did look at the digital ones and there
seems to be a thick white cloud in a picture here and there that seems to be
trying to block my lens or get out of the photo but either way its something
ghostly in one it seems to be a comet shaped ball of ecto traveling but it
seemed to follow us around. I sensed something there but its  very hard to
focus with the cars speeding by since its near the expressway. It was just
nice to be able to finally get around to walk around this cemetery. In the
older section the tombstones are bent in all different directions I seemed to
sense something in the older part and thats when my digitals no longer showed
up. During the summer we will go back sit down and try and focus in the older
section.

I am using petes computer write now he is back online as well. I bought a new pc
and i got the wrong software for the modem. On top of that my phone line has
been down it was supposed to be up but the phone company messed up and did not
turn it on so most likely monday it should be fixed which means break my rules

Last night Pete and I changed our investigation last minute since there was a
Sabres game the area we were going to go had to many people out so we decided
to go to a place with over 30 yrs of haunted stories to investigate and what
an adventurous night it turned out to be.  We went to an area called
blackstone road its been tuscarora  indian land at least since the 1500s one
of the older reservation lands around the Buffalo area. The story goes that
if you drive down black stone road at night and look in your mirror you will
see apparitions in the road. It was indian burial ground but bodies started
to wash up along the lake by the road so I am sure this has alot to do with
it. We started are adventure off by taking Petes 4X4 up a gravel road in the
woods. We felt something as soon as we got out of the truck these feelings
are usually very accurate but something felt close to  us pretty close to the
lake. We ended up hiking into the woods down a steep hill and stood on the
mouth of the lake which was frozen over so we used that to cross into some
woods we found an abandoned rowboat on the way. As we made it up the one
trail we encountered some amount of activity branches breaking, found GIANT
cat paw prints probably a bobcat and as we went further away up the trail and
the car we knew anything we encountered would have to be dealt with since we
were so far away. We found a field which runs along black stone road yet for
some reason the road had disapeared this bothered us alot since our plans
were to hike along the lake and cut to the road. So we decided to find
another way and head back to the truck. There is an old saying that when you
got cosmic flow and you walk into it then that flow changes we were on indian
ground and honestly I doubt many walk in this area at night if anybody does.
We headed back to the truck there were some noises that did not add up and it
seemed to get more active whenever I talked. I guess one of my concerns was
sasquatch since i am not familiar with how he reacts in my area we did not
know what to expect. But it seemed like we heard some amount of walking close
by including branches breaking yet no animals nothing we could not see what
this was. As we got close to our truck which was on the other side of a
frozen pond we had to cross another dirt road which again was another outlit
from blackstone road. As we crossed a truck came up this gravel road no
headlights nothing. Pete and I darted into the woods fast as lightening Pete
doze and rolled down a hill sliding on his back i dove and rolled right after
him missed the tree thank god lol. We hid behind 2 trees when we heard car
doors and walking close by its almost like we were being looked for. We stood
still and then on the left side of us keep in mind behind us was a pond so we
were cornered we heard heavy walking and something making a sound it did not
sound like anything I ever heard in my life more like something walking and
making a bird/beast type of sound we then went to left seen nothing and the
sounds stopped but like I said the walking was heavy and the people looking
for us took off and we were left with something roaming around the woods no
animal we could identify. We made our way back to the truck and decided to
move the truck to another location but first of course we went and got pizza
and take a break the subzero temperatures tend to have a toll on you
especially when you roll down a hill and find snow in your pockets. We then
came back drove down some more roads just to look around found an area to
park we did not like the idea people were looking out there wndows at us as
if they knew what we were doing or could feel it kinda like the ghost feel me
when I am on a investigation. We hiked up black stone road keep in mind a
road with no lights, thick woods, maybe 3 houses and thats it. Pete seen a
shadow moving a quarter of the way down this road. 3 cars did go down this
road and all of them went about 80 miles an hour since most people live on
this land they know the stories that come with this road so most go down it
fast. We walked up and pete had something pretty close on top of it very cold
then it moved over to me. The walk up the road was not to bad however i went
through 6 batteries in just a matter of minutes our energy from Pete's camera
and mine was being drained quicker then we could change them.we went to the
end of the road had some major cold spot activity a few branches breaking but
nothing major. Now when we turned around and decided to hike up the road back
to the truck thats when the activity become overwhelming. We got about an
1/8th of a mile up the road and all of sudden we heard something running
through the woods towards us branches breaking yet again seen nothing so for
the hell of it I asked sasquatch assuming thats what it might be to come out
and all of sudden we experienced a fowl odor Pete said it smelled like dirt I
did not smell it the first 2 times walking up the road but the 3rd time i did
and it seemed to come and go but whatever it was definitately stayed along
the tree line then seemed to switch sides. But the noises we heard
intensified as we walked up the road walking, branches snapping, a thump,
things of that sort but it became very forboding walking up that road back we
seemed to be surrounding with alot of paranormal activity from both ends of
the woods it reminded me alot of our Warren/Kinzua investigations. We knew we
were being watched by what we can only assume a Sasquatch since the smell was
there and other signs of something as well with a high intelligence. I took a
photo as well on the way back and a face it was solid as ever appeared by my
right arm when the flash illuminated the area it must have somehow
illuminated this ghostly face but it was right by my forearm .As soon as we
got past one of the houses all activity ceased to exist so yes we were being
followed my guess was is that we had alot of ghost and possibly something
else in the area that the indians try and protect. We did stop and look up
the road and a half of mile away we both did see a white mist in the road
where we were 15 minutes previously there was no fog out of the sorts it just
seemed to be a mass of ectoplasm. We then headed to the truck. The area i had
alot of mixed feelings about you feel something is not right there you also
can hear and sense things since its so peaceful you can focus better then
being in the city. We do have plans to go back when it warms up and do some
hiking, more photography and investigating. I did look on my digital camera
and half of the photos came up dark, other half completely blank or white
like something did not want to be seen. However 3 digital photos that i did
take came out pretty strange one that was taken shows an indian man and trust
me he is an indian the eye, mouth, nose, strong jaw structure are all obvious
and his ghost seems to be staring not at me but another mass of ectoplasm and
in that mass there seems to be a lady and mans face perhaps they got in a car
accident on this road her face seems to be disfigured. There is 2 other
masses of ectoplasm that got faces one of them looks fairly evil or upset.
The investigation out there was a success and we will make a couple more
return trips in the next year or so.

years on top of it i just got done having a flat tire and walked 6 miles to
go buy a cross wrench in the 12 degree deep snow so im not happpy anyhow the

I have added today 40 new photographs of the aquarama that i took i got them
developed a couple days ago and they are HOT and i mean really good photos.
Check them out the first set of photos was added to the aquaramas prologue
page just some more photos to show you what the ship looks like outside and
inside and the second set i added was 19 ghost pictures in the aquaramas
investigation 2 section. They are really spectacular so check them out. Also
if you have not checked out the new photos i added yesterday in macfaddens
castle and part 1 do so as well as the grain elevators investigation added
and the faith united methodist church investigation so lots of new photos
this week added. Now i can take a break for a week or 2. Also i made a boobee
and the buttons were blank on the adventure page for the synagogue and church
i just fixed them so have fun folks.
