Hello Everyone,
Apologies for any cross-postings. Please forward this on to anyone you think may be interested. Please note that this tour is not associated with the SAAs in Atlanta, just happens to be going on during that time.
Free Tour of the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University
April 24th, 2009
9:00 am
Please join me for a collections tour of the Carlos Museum in Atlanta on Friday morning, April 24th, at 9:00 am. Dr. Rebecca Stone, Faculty Curator of the Ancient Americas at the Carlos, will be presenting a selection of the textiles from the Museum's collection as well as some recent textile acquistions. Ms. Renee Stein, Conservator for the Carlos, will also take us on a tour of the Conservation lab. There will be time for self-guided tours through the Museum's galleries after our visits with Dr. Stone and Ms. Stein.
Please meet in front of the Carlos at 8:45 am to begin our tour. The estimated total time of our visit is about 3 hours. If anyone is interested, we can meet at the SAA conference hotel at 8:15 am and share taxis to the Carlos. The Carlos is located approximately 5 miles from the conference hotel.
If you are interested in the tour or have any questions, please email at capappas@... by April 21st. There is a tour limit of 20 people.
Thanks,
