Hi, Ed...
Interesting...actually someone did a Phd thesis (ma?) at MIT similar to this on ancient Andean textiles...the identification of dy stuffs by related modern scientific technology...since I'm writing this note from Kinko's in NYC don't have her name or the name of her thesis on hand. May as well take advantage to ask what ever happened to the FPIG Bulletin...the Textileforum I/05 with my article on the Ayacucho exhibit came out about two weeks ago...I just saw it a few days ago, when I arrived here. The whole edition...with heavy emphasis on Turkish textiles is jampacked with info and what I might call a beak the barrier of silence feel.... Will be off to the Bay Area tomorrow.
Best always,
Karen
