Several colleagues have recently informed me of the
death of a friend and colleague. Jim Petersen of UVT
was killed Saturday during a robbery in Brazil. Jim is
most well known for his archaeological research in the
northeast, the Amazon, and research on perishable
artifacts. He will be missed.
