Hello,
I'm looking for images of extant fabrics that would illustrate the
structure of a Hopewell twined textile preserved by contact with
copper. The appropriate magnified image would ultimately be used in
an exhibit being prepared by the Field Museum. The original fabric
was spaced two-strand s-twist weft-twined, using Emery's
terminology. The spacing is about 0.5 cm, and the warps appear to be
two-ply, s-twist in make-up. There are 7-8 warps/cm. While it's not
essential to completely match the original textile, it would be
wonderful to come close to that. Kutruff and Strikland-Olsen show a
bag with a slightly more spaced but otherwise very similar structure
in their chapter in _Beyond Cloth and Cordage_. I'd appreciate any
help you can provide,
Thanks,
