Two ways of copying the files, use the camera as a drive via USB
cable, or more easily, copy the files to your SD chip via a card
reader either attached or built-in to your desktop/notebook computer.
Then follow the insutuctions on this list under
Files ==> readme.html

WARNING! -- All warranties on the HP 850 have expired (including any
extended plans). So, make sure you have a fresh set of fully charged
batteries if you insist on upgrading the firmware on this camera. If
the camera works fine without the upgrade, then I suggest NOT fixing
it. If the batteries die during the update, you may be out of luck on
reviving it.
Only fix it if you are using firmware version 1.01.03 (.04 & .05
should work fine in most cases unless you cannot read your MMC card).
To tell what version your camera has: While holding down the Flash
button, turn the camera on. This will put you into diagnostics mode,
and can test the camera if you desire in addition to a bunch of other
informations.
