setting up c++ or g++ in textpad   Message List

hi.
tried setting up the cymus and cygwin g++ and c++ in textpad 5.
when i try to compile.
says it cannot find the path.
put the path variable in windows vista.
so how to get it to work.
also tried the command at the command prompt with g++ and c++.
but cannot find any input files.
can any one help me out.
i am a blind programming student, starting out with c++, and got the teach
your c++ in 21 days in a text format from a friend.
can you help.
using the jaws for windows screen reader.
