dear kayenk,
you can create one very simply for very little $. a lady came to one of my
trainings ... a social worker with no funds. she really wanted to facilitate
the book professionally, but again...no $$. so i told her to go home and use
whatever she had on hand..along with a $5.00 can of black paint. So she bought
one quart of flat black paint for the space under her stairs, threw in an old
cushion to sit on, an old bathroom mirror, and night light. everyone of her
clients have had wonderful experiences. so money is not an object. as long as
the booth is created from your heart...with love...then it will work.
in the old days, i did trainings all over the world and we had to use closets,
bathrooms, motor homes ... just any space we could find. we had to use any
dark material to cover the walls, etc.
then i built a portable booths that go anywhere. they are made from pvc pipe.
the overall space measures about 30" wide, 45" long, and 45" tall. The mirror
is plexiglass. And the material is just black. I no longer use an inside light
(most people prefer it that way.) Instead I use felt for the top or any black
material for the entire booth and let natural light come through. It's very,
very simple. NO muss or fuss with lighting.
all you need to do is build the frame with 1/2" pvc, drape the material from
the inside out (to over the pipe), and hang a mirror. Put in any chair. (i
bought a folding recliner at a local sports store...Academy...one of those that
can be taken any place...know what i'm talking about? and it is perfect...very
low, comfortable, and can go any place my booth goes.) you don't need a light
or anything else but the frame, material, chair, and person! i've used them on
beaches, offices, homes...any place that is quiet. Easy! Inexpensive! Fun!
another option....a lady in NV used to build and sell booths similar to mine.
i've never seen hers, but she took a training and said her's were similar. she
was pricing them at about $200. if you'd like, i can see if she still sells
them. i've not had time to be involved with the booth during the past year or
so, thus don't know if she is still making them.
