I intend to create a psychomanteum in my back room.  I'd also
like to integrate biofeedback. (I have a Freeze-Frame heart
sensor from www.heartmath.org)  Does anyone have any tips
about:
1) How can I increase my chances of success using a psychomanteum
2) Any sense of "good" biofeedback readings which might
  either predict or preclude success?

I've got the "Reunions" book, but any other advice would be great.

Primarily, hi everyone, I'm a new member of the egroup, and I look
forward to chatting with you all.  Let me tell you a little about
myself.  I am a professional Tarot reader, learning more every day about
our true nature, or at least my true nature, after all we all find the
stories that are true to us.  When I wear my pagan hat, I am a follower
of Apollo, something that is simultaneously very important to me, yet
still another story.  I am Family of Light, an ex-astronomer (i:e: I can
follow most of the science, but I dropped out of University in my second
year), an ex-physical theatre performer, a healer, Magickal warrior
(that would take a lot of explaining as it was practice before I had
chance to learn any theory, isn't it great how we can wing it on
knowledge that is only half remembered or less consciously), and loads
of other stuff that again, they're only stories.  Pleased to meet you
all.

I am writing about a course I am going on within the month.  Now this
course is absolutely perfect for me.  In the language of the Ascension
crowd, and in my own beliefs I am as they call it a Starseed.  I am
quite happy to carry this story, as it works for me, and makes so much
sense.

So the reason I am posting this is to find out a: peoples initial
reaction to this course, and b: how many others like me are there out

I'm finding the integration process interesting, as I must say I was a
fan of constant wham-bams, they kept me on my toes.  The integration
seems to be occurring without my breaking at least one pattern I thought
I would. Today, my connection was hit somehow, and I have spent the
evening erm, releasing angers that appeared out of nowhere. Still, I'm
sure it will all come clear in time, it does rather tend to.

Hi all,

I never received any messages from the group with the ILOVE YOU title.
Luckily, I never received any of those at all at my home email address.  My
office was hit pretty hard with it.

Anyway,  how is everyone these days?  Do you feel that your connections to love
and light are strengthening all the time or is it a battle you must continually
fight?  For me is seems stronger and stronger all the time, though it is more
integrated into my life... as opposed to manifesting in a stream of wham-bam
revelations all the time.

I do know that egroups was going through server updates... also have not
received or noticed posting for over a month. The ILOVEYOU virus was
devastating to those who accidentally clicked on the attachment, especially
if you had a lot of jpegs or graphics... Receiving a posting
from egroups with the attachment??? This I did not see... Did any other
person in the group receive the same attachment from
psychomanteum@egroups.com ??

I work out of UNLV (Univer. of Nevada, Las Vegas) where we have a number of

Actually, i know why they left...James Davidson, my great-grandfather from
England, began driving as the chauffeur for Sarah Stuart in Scotland, a pretty
18 yr. old upper-crust.   They fell in love and the Stuarts would not hear of
it...their daughter with a chauffer - YIKES! Well, you can probably guess the
rest.  To make a long story short, as they say, Sarah and James eloped to
Newfoundland, moved into Canada, and eventually settled along the Canadian/US
border.

Have you read Rupert Sheldrake's latest book about animal/human consciousness? 
Or Colin Caffell's In Search of the Rainbow's End?  They are both dear chaps,
and if you ever get a chance to take a workshop with either of them, i highly
recommend it.

i'm so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law.   losing a loved one this
way makes it extra
difficult, as you well know.

i don't usually talk much about it unless with family or close friends of
my brother.
i find theres a stigma attached to this way of passing and chose not to
participate
in the sensationalism surrounding it.

i would love to show you the light photograph.  however, i must admit that
i'm very protective
of my brother at the moment and fear it being splashed over the net.  is
there is any way
i could meet with you?  where in the u.s. do you live?

i've met a few clairvoyant ministers for readings and was told specific
things about my
brother (& family) but also that he needs time for realization.  at present
i wish to learn
techniques to open myself further for direct communication.  there have
been so many
occurrences these past weeks and because of our strong connection, believe
this possible.

let me begin by saying that i'm sorry to hear about your brother. raymond moody and i are writing a grief book, to be titled, LIFE AFTER LOSS, and the first chapter points out how experiences such as yours helps deal with the loss. This is the Why behind your experience.

Your brother must have loved you very much to appear to you, because, indeed, that is why they return in some way.

How are you with it now? Most people are tremendously comforted, and some even elated. And yes, it is very common, normal, and even endearing to receive communications as you have.

The experience you describe is not really related to psychomanteum work,
nevertheless it is an interesting one. There have been many similar
experiences in recent (say the last 40) years, and there is much debate
between sceptics and "those who wish to believe", as to the meaning and
validity of the experience.  My view is:  if it means something to YOU,
enjoy!

I am sure that your brother is in good hands.
Rather than "resting in peace", I suspect he is busier now than he ever was
in this life!
Please be happy for him - he has taken the next step in his evolution, and
he loves you just as much as before.

hello, i am new to the list and wish to learn more about receiving &
enhancing communication with loved ones.

i have recently lost my brother (2 months ago) and have experienced
frequent significant messages but this one which i wish to share, is the
most tangible...

as i was leaving the funeral home (the last day) i suddenly felt impelled
to take a picture of the flowers & enlarged photograph of my brother.  ---
i spent private moments in that corner looking into this very photo while
asking to let me know if he was ok.  to reach into my knapsack & take
pictures (out of the blue) was totally out of character - i could barely
function as i was so grief-stricken over his abrupt passing away.

well, to make a long story short, i had the film developed last week & was
amazed to see an extraordinary white light radiating from 3 separate places
(head, mouth, shoulder) in the photograph of his photograph!  i'd heard
about this kind of thing before but was always a bit ambiguous until now  ...

the white light is so brilliantly clear and like nothing else i've ever
seen.  (i used to be involved professionally - 10 years - with photography)

psychomanteum as I'm in process of constructing one myself in a lovely 200
year old vintage Colonial home I just bought on the northeast coast of the
US. I'd love to hear what you'd be willing to share on your experiences with

ago whose title has temporarily escaped me (I'll look for it and give proper
respect to the author for his work).
      Do you use it exclusively for yourself or allow or facilitate its being
used for others as well? I'm a hypnotherapist with past life interests as
well as a Tarot reader, Reiki Master and Native American Shamanic
practitioner and am interested in the possibilities inherent in a
psychomanteum for therapeutic work (still in the "idea" stages so I'm not
sure how that would manifest when working with clients) as well as for my
own, personal use. At any rate, thank you in advance for whatever you'd be
willing to speak upon.

did try to just look into a mirror in the semi-dark once but, for some reason
I got totally creeped out.  I kept feeling like I was going to see something
rather demonic.  I felt a great urge to stop looking.  Don't know if it was
just me or something real.  I don't take chances.  I have had an OBE so, I do
believe in beyond death.  Don't know where the fear came from.  Hope to hear

Try searching the net for "random field viewer" - I think it is in
www.spiritweb.org so that will narrow it down somewhat.
If you can't find it let me know because I know I printed it out a few
months ago - I'll look through the (very many) printouts for you if you
don't find it, and send you the actual address. With the information it
gives you, you don't need a mirror!

Are you mirror gazing on a regular basis? What level of success are you
having?
I built a full psychomanteum a year or more ago. It's an amazing thing to

The Psychomanteum experience is one which can be created anywhere... April

after your note.. You 'Kno' as I do... 'spirit is'  There-in = your path...
As a "sensitive" who has realized this world, as you have... Spirit has
allowed you [ actually you have allowed you ] to act as a channel for so
many here on the earth plain who -feel- that the voice they hear inside is
coming from another world...
This gift is -your "permissions" .... I believe it takes many lifetimes to
get to that conscious development- My message is "Ruth Lordan is a

In creating the Psychomanteum website... my only goal was to deliver what
was coming through... [ like automatic writing ] This web thing is a tool
for spirit... I'm totally convinced of it...

If I were [ this is me on the ego level ] to have a wish... somehow spirit
would open a gateway which would allow me to travel the world revealing 'the
otherside'
-Much like Joseph Campbell did in his series of Myth- So in answering -"what
is your schedule like" I reply... "Spirit directs my schedule, I gave that
decision making process away many lifetimes ago."

A PSYCHOMANTEUM OF YOUR OWN

Preparation

The first thing to remember is that no one has ever been physically harmed
while using a Psychomanteum.  The second thing is to realize that you are
observing the Universe in a quantum way with no physical rules applying.
You
must suspend "rational" judgement over everything you see and experience.
There is no room for linear thinking in the world of spirit.  What you see
may
never make any sense - if you see anything at all…there are no guarantees.

The "key" to any experience in a Psychomanteum is preparing your mind,
body -
and spirit for the experience.  Preparation is the single most important
step
in the experience.  The Psychomanteum itself is only an "observation
point" -
You "scan" distant horizons - horizons which can interact with you on many
levels from your vantage point - or not at all.

It is important the you approach your experience with a positive attitude
and
that your body is as pure as possible. Above all, DO NOT use alcohol or
tobacco prior to your experience!  They are both addictive drugs and can
attract negative spiritual energy which may linger and cause spiritual,
mental
and physical problems.  Tobacco, in particular, can attract the most
negative
energy the Universe has to offer because of its deadly nature and the evil
intentions of its producers.

It is best to plan ahead for the experience and set aside an entire day if
possible for the experience.

On the chosen day, it is generally best to eat lightly - preferably
vegetables
and fruit.  I recommend that you spend time earlier in the day walking,
bicycling or exercising in some pleasurable way.  Take enough time to really
break down any physical tension.  In the afternoon, you might read, watch a
comedy or do something which does not involve day-to-day tasks…NO "NEWS!"
As
sunset approaches, begin reflecting on the person you wish to see, event you
want to understand, or whatever questions you might pose the Universe.  You
are now ready to enter the Psychomanteum.

The Psychomanteum

The Psychomanteum itself can be any space you can set aside for it.  It can
be
a separate building, a room in your attic or basement as is mine, the corner
of your living room, or even a closet.  It is important to think of this as
consecrated space.  You may want to perform a cleansing or purification
ritual
when you set it up and prior to each use.  Make your Psychomanteum a special
and sacred space where you feel safe and comfortable.  Wherever you
construct
it, think of it as separate from everything else in your personal
environment.
It can be the place where you meditate or spend reflective time on a daily
basis.  Keep your Psychomanteum free of daily detritus such as newspapers,
bill-paying paraphernalia or anything having less than peaceful
connotations.

Since one of the keys is sensory deprivation, I do not recommend placing it
in
any area containing windows.  Any distraction is counter-productive.  If you
can’t eliminate windows, make sure they have opaque coverings.  If it is in
a
public area, you may wish to think of it as a sanctuary which has been
camouflaged from a hostile environment and reconsecrate  it each time you
use
it.

Construction

You need a place to sit or lie down as you gaze.  It can be a comfortable
chair, couch, prayer rug or a stool - basically, the most comfortable thing
you can think of which will not induce sleep.  Because you will be in a
meditative state and a hyper-alert state at the same time, it is important
that your body be as relaxed and comfortable as possible.  It will actually
act as the conduit for all the energy that enters and exits your
consciousness.

The Psychomanteum area itself can include many varied objects.  If you are
attempting to contact a loved-one in spirit, it is important to have at
least
a few objects close to you which you deeply associate with that person.
Special photos and objects which were carried often or had special meaning
to
the deceased are especially helpful.

You will essentially be involved in "gazing," which means that you also need
reflective surfaces.  The ancient Greeks used oil in huge polished bronze
cisterns  to gaze into in their Oracles.  Oracles were large labyrinthine
sub-
ground structures which they visited on mystical and spiritual pilgrimages.
They would stay in small, dimly-lit cells for prolonged periods prior to
gazing into the depths of the oil.  When they began gazing, their "reality
circuits" were shut down to a great extent and their expectations did not
include the physical world.  Nostradamus gazed into a cauldron filled with
water or oil, or into dark mirrors.  He also removed himself from the
physical
world prior to gazing.  In short, the best experiences tend to come when the
observer has suspended expectations and deprived him or herself of  material
concerns.

The best "gazing" materials seem to be mirrors, especially mirrors reflected
in other mirrors because they appear as reversed and confound our normal
perceptions.  Dark mirrors are helpful also, because they only reflect that
which is in their very depth. Ceremonial containers filled with water or oil
are especially good.  You can make the liquid move randomly which further
reduces your expectations in terms of what you will see.  Crystal balls,
vases, crystal stemware and even trinkets are also good.  You never know
where
your vision will appear.

Candles placed at various places in the area are absolutely essential.
Incense and sage wands sanctify the area further and attract good spiritual
energy.  You can create an alter, if you like.  You can play spiritual music
at low volume.  In my Psychomanteum, I also have such items as a microscope
to
help alter my expectations and Uncle Scrooge and Archie comics to keep me
from
getting too serious.  It is not good to get overly austere in these matters.
Remember, though, that this is not just "space" in a room, it is also a
"bridge" to the Quantum Universe and dimensions never previously observed.



Using the Psychomanteum

Enter your Psychomanteum at sunset or a short time before.  The "Crack in
the
Twilight" is your destination.  If your mind feels "busy" and the
"committee"
is still in session in your head, find a way to distract your thoughts.
This
is the time that it is good to read a comic or look at pollen in a
microscope.
Play with a slinky, play jacks, pick-up sticks or some childhood game that
is
filled with distraction, but not taxing on your mind.

Once you have quieted yourself, begin scanning the area.  Let your eyes rest
where they want to and let your body settle where it feels drawn.  Begin
meditating, with only the intention of finding a gap between thoughts.
Eventually, you will find that an attention within you has focused away from
you.  The longer you maintain your attention in this area, the more likely
you
are to have "otherworldly" visions.  Be aware that you may spend much time
in
your Psychomanteum and not see anything at all.  You may leave it and find
the
person you seek sitting next to you in your car the next morning.  You may
go
in with the intention of seeing someone or answering a specific question and
having a completely "unrelated’ experience.  You could find yourself
visualizing a future event or conversing with Mozart.  The point is that
although there are no mistakes in the Universe, our perceptions of what we
need from it may not be what we are destined to "see" or observe in our
sessions in the Psychomanteum.

Your "quest" may not be to unlock Universal secrets, but to gain particular
insights into yourself and your life.  Remember: Nothing you do in a
Psychomanteum is insignificant!

You will intuitively know when it is time to end your time in the
Psychomanteum, so please do not schedule your time in it.  You will also
find
that time tends to "warp" when you are using your Psychomanteum.  You may
think you’ve been in it for several hours only to find that a half-hour has
passed.

my name is tony. i have just recently experimented with this psychomanteum
after reading raymond moody's book "Reunions...."
i am interested in hearing from people who have had luck with this form of
"channeling" and what they thought of it. also if any had methods besides
moody's in case moody's method didn't work.

We sincerely look forward to your 'posts' ....

I'll share a little history... A little over a year ago,
I had never heard of a Psychomanteum or would
know what the word meant...

As a television producer, I was introduced to a
proposal to develop a TV program based on the
story of Andy Lakey's Angel Paintings...

Then introduced to Keith Richardson, the author
of Andy Lakey's Psychomanteum... the script is
still in development... but things started to happen.

A few years ago, several stressful events took
place which caused me personal intense pain...
due to family loss.

At that time, Dan ( an old friend.. he's on the
list ) and colleague informed me of his [ channeling ]
relationship with a spirit 'DAR' ... and as a personal gift.
Introduced me to this spirit...

Amazing events took place afterward. I started
receiving direct [ I even challenged it ] contacts.
I could 'carry-on" here forever... but needless to
say... It all became very real.

Psychomanteum.Com was a channeled [ actually
directed ] event. As a media producer, I have been
enjoying the challenge of creating 'interactive -
websites'... taken the path of dealing with servers,
InterNIC and the whole data process... Applying
for the domain name to me seemed to be a
possible wasted effort, I was sure the name would
not be available... It was almost "automatic writing"
going through the process... InterNIC responded
within 10 minutes stating... Psychomanteum.com
was secured! Paul... This never happens! I've
been through this process a dozen times and it
always takes a few days to a week or more to
register, confirm and point the domain name to
a server. This event took place in less than ten
minutes. The site has only been up about a month.

I believe your introduction and evolvement is
following along the same path. I sincerely welcome
that interest... and your possible discussion of your
experiences with your personal Psychomanteum
at home.

I am copying the list [ which you have noticed
is very new ] but wanted to send this direct.. So
you may be getting two copies of this note :)
