Hello everyone

Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Philip I'm based in New York city
though I'm
from the UK originally and I'm an artist by training and vocation. I lost my own
father a few
years ago which is what led me to read doctor Moody's book and because I'm
practically
inclined I decided to build my own psychomanteum 2 years ago.

This I have done and used it with a certain sucesss but I'm eager to hear of
other's
experiences with them and how to refine them and the process to get optimal
results. I
did contact Dr, Mody last year and had a brief exchange of emails with him which
was very
useful but in it's way only nudged me forward. I can't help feeling that there
is something
that is being left out by Dr. Moody's approach. Or perhaps I'm missing
something?

So I have just today discovered this list so I'm hoping  you can offer me a more
involved
discussion and perhaps shed some light oh the process.

It seems from the archives this list is very quiet but I'm hoping that there are
still plenty of
you out thre who can enlighten me.

Hello,
I learned of this yahoo group from Diane Arcangel's webpage. I so look
forward to meeting her at the Forever Family Foundation Conference in
San Francisco January 19-20.
She will be among the wonderful presenters who are trying to prove
scientifically that we do not die.....we simply transition.
My own afterlife encounters with my son who passed in Jan 2006 and my
mother who passed December 2006 have strengthened my own belief in a
beautful afterlife. I am reading everything I can find on the subjects
of afterlife encounters, mediumship, NDE's, etc.
I encourage all here in this group to look into the conference in San
Francisco. Just check it out on the www.foreverfamilyfoundation.org
webpage.
I hope to meet some of you there.
I am also looking forward to learning much from this group.

to me.  I am conducting a 5 year international survey
at www.afterlife-encounters.com and a young woman sent
me her survey from Romania.  Is the name Ovidiu common
in your country?

If that was not you, and you would like to be part of
the survey, it is only 4 quick questions, and I'd love

As for building a booth - it is simple. Any dark room
with a mirror will do.  Just make sure you cannot see
your own reflection in it.

The paranormal experience is usualy given to those who can handle it. There will be no experiences for you if you are not prepared to understand. I have noticed that in my life, all the problems comes with the solutions, and it does'nt mater if it's paranormal or not. You have to be carefull what are you wishing for, because it can really hapend to you. But if you are looking for Harmony, Love, Peace and Light, you will have a beautiful life.

As far as I can tell, psychomanteum use is a form of scrying. This
would imply that successful "seeing" would be more dependent upon
the individual than upon the equipment being used. I am interested
to know if there is any current theory as to how entering a
hypnogogic state would enable one to perceive spirits. Is there a
Jungian explanation for this, such as the "collective
unconsciousness"? I have never used a psychomanteum, and have never
attempted scrying, but I can upon occasion enter a hypnogic state
during meditation. In this state, random disconnected dream images
arise to my awareness without any effort or intention on my part. I
assume that these images can become more connected and "meaningful"
if one enters this state frequently enough. At least this is what I
have read in books that instruct you in scrying. But what is the
theory of reality that explains how entering a dream-state while
awake would enable one to obtain useful information? I suppose the
same theory would apply to psychic perceptions in general, except
that ESP does not necessarily have to include "perception of
spirits" as one of its aspects. The reason that meditation is so
widely reported as a means of enlightenment might be for the same
reason that persons using psychomanteums experience visions. I
suppose the "eureka experience" would also fall into the same
category. But what theory would explain all this?

Yes.  At the U.Nevada.  There were numerous anomolies
caught on video and instrumentation.   Some of the
results were published by the SPR in 1995, but most
remain private.

I've been in the closet for years - have not gone
public to protect my professional credibility. (-;  I
used to teach Raymond Moody's trainings, but then began
  teaching at major research centers only for almost 10
years).  I'm writing another book but will not include
the oracle in it either.  maybe one day, but it won't
be this one!
