Description

This discussion group is devoted to issues related to quantitative genetics, evolutionary biology, and breeding for both plants and animals. Issues may include but are not limited to: statistical methods of estimating genetic parameters (REML, MCMC, Gibbs, etc), breeding values, crossing ability, QTLs, mutation rates, economic values, BLUP, mixed model methodologies, inbreeding, mating systems.

Bioinformatics issues include experimental design and analysis of microarray experiments, proteomics, or any of the other -omics, as well as methods for QTL detection and mapping. Discussion on the use of molecular genetics for evolutionary biology or breeding is also encouraged.
