QuickTiming.org Announcement

Hello once again QuickTimers,

It has been a while since our last newsletter, but our new content is
definately
worth the wait, in fact you could almost say Historic!

First, most of you may have noticed a slightly new layout. This is to make
your site
navigation easier. We have also added dates to our news/homepage so you know
exactly which news items are the latest and greatest. A big "Thank You" goes out
to
Cliff for all of his hard work behind the scenes. Not only is it easier for you
to get
around the site, it is easier for myself and other contributors to add their own
content
immediatley.

The latest and greatest addition to the site is our Smithsonian Project
Blog. Two of
the best known names in QuickTime development, Dennis Biela and David Palermo,
are in the middle of documenting the Smithsonian's new Air and Space Museum in
Washington DC. They will be making QTVR movies of over 200 aircraft and 135
spacecraft. You can learn more details about the 8 month project here...

http://www.worldvr.com/nasm/

During this 8 month project, Dennis and David will be running a Blog on
QuickTiming.org that will tell the story of their progress, talk about the
problems
involved in shooting such large objects, and also offer the workarounds for
those
problems. The blog will also contain stills and VRs of the shoots in progress.
Here is a
link to the Blog...

We want to thank Dennis and David for offering all of us an unprecedented
look
into this once in a lifetime project!

But of course you have come to expect more from QuickTiming.org and here it
is.
Steve Martin of Ripple Training brings us an extensive overview of Apple's Final
Cut
Pro 4. Steve has also done a tutorial using Final Cut to create Motion Menus
that can
be imported into both DVD Studio Pro and iDVD.

We also have edition numer 2 of "The Node" where you too can learn how to
create
QTVR object movies without spending a fortune on special equipment.

Also, we are still looking for your submissions. Want your opinion to
count? Want
to share your views with thousands and get a little something back for it? Well
you
got it, bunkie. Submit a review, tutorial, or article to QuickTiming.Org and if
its
accepted we'll give you (courtesy of our friends at RealViz) a free copy of
Stitcher EZ
(a $50 value). So send us an email with your idea (so we don't get duplicates)
and be
on the road to fame and fortune -- well fame anyway.

Kevin & Cliff
