I have been having problems that I believe are Quick-time related
for most of a year now on my lap-top. After one of those automatic
updates about a year ago the "i-tunes" and Kodak Easyshare software
have stopped working on my laptop. My PC which has an older slower
processor and has the same XP service pack 2 operating system works
just fine with all of the updates. As advised on the Kodak and
Quicktime sites I have tried uninstalling and installing the newest
versions numereous times. Everytime my PC gets an update I get
optimistic that the latest update may fix whatever is aliling the
software on my laptop but I have had no luck. When I unistall the
Quicktime software there seems to be an old version of Quick Time
that will not uninstall. My suspicion is that this old version of
the software is what is causing my problems. I had thought to re-
format my harddrive to get rid of it but my computer did not come
with a Windows disc so I have no way of re-loading the software. I
had looked into doing a system restore but realized that I have now
waited to long and cannot restore back to an old enough date to undo
the problem. I am pretty near giving up and buying new Windows
software so that I can reformat but saw the QuickTime group today
and am hopefull to find someone that may know an answer to my
problem.
