July, 2000 while on my way to California. I saw the
pilot, Bill, take his single surface falcon off the tram
and set it up while many people watched. The crowd
was well primed when Bill decided to launch and
really showed their
appreciation.<br><br><a href=http://www.cswnet.com/~n5rqd/Bill_Stills.zip

(one second) from the movie below The movie. I created
these stills after I discovered that there was a lot of
discussion on the region 6 email list about what caused the
whack. In hind sight, I don't really think that these
photos help clear anything up but they do show the
potential for frame by frame analysis of an
event.<br><br><a href=http://www.bullmorgan.com/qt/MarkStump.mov

Not a bad whack though. I previously posted this
movie in a different folder which will be deleted
soon.<br><br><a href=http://www.bullmorgan.com/qt/Bill.mov

Florida Field landing field when Bill headed out to land
so all I had to do was walk over to a good spot for
taping most landings and wait. He fooled me by landing
way shorter than most people do and I had to use
signiicant zoom. I think that it was decided later that he
turned too much while close to the ground and couldn't
really straighten the glider for a good landing. He
whacked and broke a down tube as a result. Please people,
turn final with enough altitude to get things well
under control before having to flair!<br><br>Local
