You are probably editing sound files that are
already compressed, and when you save them in another
format, you are specifying no compression or a different
compression method.<br><br>WAV files are limited in the types
of compression they can use. It is much better to
use the QuickTime format, due to the variety of
compression types available.<br><br>You have to set the
compression method before you export the file, and I believe
the most common compression for a WAV file is IMA 4:1
which will compress the sounds 4 to 1.<br><br>- Ron
If you are trying to save a QuickTime streaming
movie, then it will not be possible to save the movie
itself (just a link to it).<br><br>If you want to save a
regular QuickTime movie to your hard drive, then you will
need QuickTime Pro which has a pop-out menu that let's
you save the movie to your hard drive.<br><br>If you
don't have QT Pro, then you may be able to locate the
movie in your web browser cache, but sometimes they are
hard to find, or not there.<br><br>- Ron
Is there any way to save a quicktime video to
your hard drive so you don't have to wait an hour for
download every time you watch it. I've tried saving the
web page as a complete html file, but it tells me
that the data the plugin requested did not load
successfully.<br><br>I read that you can put the settings to "Save into
disk cache" and find you file on a *.mov search, but
that didn't work either. Can someone help me?
I tried to make a quicktime recording, audio
only, by opening two quicktime songs in Final Cut Pro
and editing them then saving it as a WAVE. Even
though the two songs were very low in k's, like 200 k
each, the result of my work was NINE MB! Is there a
more proficient way to do this?
I downloaded quicktime to my PC and it converted
all my saved JPG files to what? The icon shows an
apple--I click on it to view my pictures and it locks my
computer up.Did I make a mistake in downloading?
i am working with QT4 with Quickeditor.<br><br>i
would like advice on converting AVI to MOV.<br><br>my
tv card is a ATI and i use it to convert into<br>a
codec that QT likes. what i want to know is <br>what
data rates and all that stuff can do to <br>make QT
movies better, good quality etc.
'm a registered user of QUICKTIME 3 but never
even heard anything about version 4? From what I see
posted here ther seems to be bugs in it. Is that
true?<br><br>To hear our whole CD (we're the authors) in QT3

elp! I'm getting an error when I launch
qt4.0.<br>"Instruction at "0x1x2018f8" refered to memory at 0x00000000.
Memory could not be read." <br>What does this mean and
how do I fix it? I've unintalled qt4.0 and
reinstalled -- same error.<br>And, I can't even install qt3.0
because the install stops and reports that
error.<br>Because of this error I can't use Adobe
Premiere.<br>BTW-I using WinNT4.0.
remiere is more of an editing package than a
compression package. We suggest that once you have edited
your movie in Premiere that you output it as
losslessly compressed using the Animation codec to reduce
the file size. Then use Media Cleaner Pro 3.1 to do
the actual Sorenson compression as Terran has an
exclusive Variable Bit Rate control feature.
e write QT tools & are interested in hearing
your suggestions for tools that you think would be
useful. Please post them here or e-mail us directly. If
enough people are interested we will write the
tool.<br><br>www.codefy.com<br><br>one tool we've written is Differencer a QT3
filter
which shows you the differences between frames for use
in rotoscoping or checking noise in
footage<br><br>another tool that we have in beta now is MovieMeter which
works with any unmodified QT app including Director &
web browsers to give you performance logs of the
number & position of dropped & late frames in a movie to
help you tune and test your movies, say for good
performance on a range of machines without having to watch
them over & over an relying on subjective judgements &
memory. you can make charts from the logs for visual
analysis of where movie problems are. does this tool seem
useful ?
'm just getting started creating and using
Quicktime with Adobe Premiere and Quicktime Pro 3. I am
having problems creating videos that play off of CD
properly. I am using Sorenson codec, setting data rate
limit to 100kps, 15fp, keyframes at 150, quality 4,
320x240 ... but my data rate remains at 260kps???? I
assume that is causing the problem.
am working on arranging a chat with some QuickTime gurus.<br><br>Unfortunately,
everyone is very busy right now.<br><br>An announcement will be made when

here's now an After Effects club ob
Yahoo!!!<br><br><a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/sharksaftereffects

it will compliment this club and the two can
cross-polinate into some wonderful quicktime<br>buddy-system.
There are only three members right<br>now, but we're
trying to get it to grow into a<br>useful place to
exchange AE related info.<br><br>I'll post a link to this
club over there so <br>incoming After Effects users

've created an Acrobat digital brochure and
embedded links to external QT movies. This all works fine
on the Mac, but the movies don't play in the Acrobat
Reader on the PC when QT 3.0 is installed. I didn't
originally catch this as I also had QT 32 installed at the
same time and didn't know it. Remove the old version
of QT and the movies don't play in the
reader.<br><br>Does this have anything to do with that 'register for
QT Pro' window that starts up QT 3.0? Is there a new
version of QT 3.0 without this opening window? Any ideas
on how to get these movies to play in Acrobat Reader
with only QT 3 installed on the PC
side?<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Vince
