Description

This group is associated with the YDNA Haplogroup R1b-U106 (U106+) Research Group at Family Tree DNA. (Our website is at www.familytreedna.com/public/U106/.) It is open to all members of that project, as well as genetic genealogists and population geneticists who are interested in discovering more about the R1b-M269 subclade defined by the U106 SNP, also known as S21.

Population geneticists have established over the last couple of decades that the largest haplogroup among men of European ancestry is R1b-M269. In the last several years, scientific studies and test results at Ethnoancestry and Family Tree DNA have indicated that the subclade defined by S21/U106 (currently called R1b1a2a1a1a by YCC and ISOGG) probably represents about 25% of R1b-M269 men.

This group will discuss theories about the geographic origin and current day distribution of R1b-U106 and how it relates to the family tree research of members. This group is also a place to share genealogy research and possibly make connections with distant cousins, both in genealogical and deep ancestry timeframes.

Here, here! It is impossible to infer that a religious belief or tradition is particularly, or specifically associated with haplogroup, subclade, SNP

Re: L47+ Network diagram
I could go with this theory, if you mean one group went left and the other right. Your Polish group has no history of Jewishness (I believe) yet arrived in EE

Re: L47+ Network diagram
... Not exactly. It means Jews who descended from, or follow, the customs and traditions of the Spanish rite. They don't have to come from Spain, the same as

Re: L47+ Network diagram
Sounds good, but I would say the Polish group left the homeland (Gothland) at the same time as the Ivanhoe group left. I believe that they were moving across

Re: L47+ Network diagram
Extremely unlikely but possible. My brother #94932 is the only U106 tester I’m aware of with DYS19=13. That is a very slow-moving marker with most U106s
