Hi folks,
Sky and Telescope just published a blog about a new tool on the Internet,
the Astroweather Panel (APanel). Some of you may be familiar with the Clear
Sky Clock (CSC) - a great tool predicting cloud cover, transparency and
seeing conditions. The problem is CSC only covers North America. Well,
APanel covers a lot more of the world, including Asia. This link provides
the APanel prediction for Chatan, Okinawa:

=JA47&site=47
If that breaks you can use this link:

This piece of HTML can be placed in a web page to insert the APanel for
Chatan with a "Legend" link back to the parent site:
<p align="center">
<img width="600" height="300"
src="http://7timer.y234.cn/V3/exe/apanel.php?country=JA&adm=JA47&site=47&en"
>
<br>
<b>
<a target="_blank"
href="http://7timer.y234.cn/V3/product.php?language=en&product_id=1&country=
JA&adm=JA47&site=47">
Legend</a></b></p>
Most likely these links will not work from a military network as APanel was
written and is hosted in China (a lot of Chinese Internet addresses are
blocked for security reasons) so try it from home.
I don't yet know how accurate APanel's predictions are - I just found out
about it. It does seem to be correct for today thus far.
Best regards,
Mike
