Description
This forum is for members of FTDNA's R-L21 Plus Project. We share detailed data on L21 haplotypes and relationships and evaluate new SNP discoveries that might apply. All L21+ people, including those that are L21+ by default, i.e. L459+, M222+, L193+, L513+, etc., are welcome to this group and the FTDNA project.
L21 is a Single-Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) on the Y chromosome. L21 is equivalent to S145, M529 and rs11799226. It is downstream of P312+(S116+) in the Y DNA phylogenetic tree. ISOGG's placement on the the tree is here: http://www.isogg.org/tree/ISOGG_HapgrpR.html
The modal haplotype for L21+ is Ysearch record K9VGV.
Please check out the FILES and LINKS menu items on the left of the yahoo group screens. There is plenty of analysis on this group. There is a spreadsheet of Haplotype_Data under FILES that has extensive sorting, geographical classifications, GD calculations and other information.
If you are an FTDNA customer AND are L21+, please join the FTDNA project at the following link: http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join-request.aspx?group=R-L21Plus
This is a public project where surname, origin and results data are available.
Please consider doing deeper SNP testing under the Advanced Orders menu in your FTDNA account. There are number of newly discovered downstream SNP's. R-L21 is a large group so it is very helpful to determine what subclade of L21 you are in.
This forum is for those interested in the project goals. Please do not use this group for non-L21 DNA topics, to advance a cultural agenda or to denigrate people or companies. Those kinds of activities can result in being banned from the list without warning. It is important to stay on topic with the goals of the project.

Re: L21*
Thank you for the information, I am 67 markers tested. I don't see any opportunity from the FTDNA site to test for additional markers since I just completed

L21*
Forgive me if I'm being ignorant, but I just completed the deepclade testing and I'm positive for L21 but negative for all of the SNP's associated with that.
