P314.2 is a Single-Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) on the Y chromosome. P314.2 falls underneath R-L21. One step downstream, a descendant subclade of P314.2 is marked by L362 is also a part of this project.

P314.2 haplotypes typically have an unusual value for a couple of Short Term Tandem Repeats (STRs.) These include DYS388=13 and DYS406s1=11. Sometimes DYS617=13 is combined in these patterns along with other STR values that are "off-modal" with the Western Atlantic Haplotype.

A project has been formed based on these STR values, identifying people that fit, and then classifying them correctly so they can pursue the proper SNP testing. If your haplotype fits please join the "11-13 Combo" project.
