Welcome to the e-mail group of Rabbit Researchers in Sub-Saharan Africa (RR_SSA). This e-mail service is dedicated towards meeting the following goals: (a) exchange of scientific information and ideas among researchers about rabbit production science, economics, marketing and development; (b) the promotion of the rearing of the domestic rabbit as a tool for boosting animal protein intake among impoverished families; (c) to create a forum for the exchange and dissemination of information about Conferences, World Congresses, Workshops and Grants applications involving rabbits/other small stock research; (d) to serve as a forum to monitor local, regional and global trends in rabbit science and development with implications for family welfare and food security.

It is hoped that the forum will be a boost to research efforts in the use of small stocks like the rabbit in the promotion of food security and poverty alleviation programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
