I use this method to photograph the hair
shaft – a piece of glass from a picture frame at the right angle and
there is no worry that you mess the banding up and you see right down to the
skin.
Hope that is helpful – no having to
chop into your bunny’s fur either.
Kind Regards,

Subject: [Rabbit_Genetics] Book on
Color reference
I'll write the book, but you all need to do something
to help--take a good
hefty pinch of a PRIME coat and yank or cut AT THE SKIN, close as you can
cut. Tape it in a nice *tight* lock to an index card, mark it with breed,
color, and your name, rabbit's ear#, email and phone #. Then step back and
carefully take a really SHARP set of photographs of the rabbit from front,
side, rear and underside so that the rabbit fills the frame of each shot.
Send them to me at:

Then I can write the book! :)
Thanks to one and all--I'll be needing ALL BREEDS and MULTIPLE EXAMPLES,
please.
I may see if I can set up a booth at Convention this year to take pictures
and samples....may need some $$ help there....
